Reading entries being said enjoyment. I haven't authorized any other enjoyment, and it's not likely that I will any time soon.

The Department of Enjoyment has furloughed about 95% of its staff, so we have to be careful with the allocation of resources right now.

I've got to get cracking on the Second Chance entries. For reasons found only deep within the tortured recess of my brain, I thought the deadline was the same as the main entries, despite your many attempts to let me know otherwise. The main entries I have read so far have all been great, and I'm sure the same is true for Second Chance.

The movie situation in Sacramento once summer starts is, "crap crap crap ooh-maybe-no-crap crap crap Oscar-blip wait-it's-gone-already?"

Oof. I am paid by the federal government (long and boring story, I work for a state-run place, but the division I work for is funded through federal money). I got paid for December (I get paid monthly, and they already had the money allocated for payroll), but January is when my contract renews, and while I was guaranteed that it's a "sure thing", I was also privately told that they're looking for other avenues to pay me now... :(

Right, anyway.

I haven't said anything about it publicly, because it's really awkward -- I have other income, too (I freelance, though it doesn't pay a lot) -- but dang, the jokes just remind me that if they don't pass something next week, I need to scrabble and find a new job. I don't love what I do, but I was guaranteed a post through at least August (six-month contracts), so this is rough.

I've done my Idol voting! I was really impressed with a lot of entries this time around!

This weekend, um. I'd normally be doing work-stuff, but you can understand why I don't want to now...

I have to go run a bunch of errands. I may do a few Fun Errands while I'm running the rest?
