Polls seem to be a time of sadness lately. Which is a shame, because usually polls are a time of great joy and celebration. After all, I get to eliminate people. What could be better than that?!?!?

It’s not as much fun when they miss the deadline and bye-out. Especially when they are someone awesome, that I was really looking forward to seeing what they did with this topic.

Goodbye to encrefloue  . Edit - To make matters worse, sarcasmoqueen also byed out this week. Which, yeah, she is another one who deserved a more glorious fate than that.

Turning to the rest of you, it’s another strong week, this time with “Long Distance Dedication”. You are not making it an easy decision for the readers, which I appreciate.

Thank you so much Bleodswean, and for following along with me this season. I am sad to leave this way; it feels surreal that it's over. But I do feel good about most of my work this season, and I always have home game without the pressure open to me.

Oh Sonreir, that is such a kind sentiment. Thank you so much. I'm going to try to keep my presence around in the home game. We'll see if I can follow through with less accountability ^^

Oh, encrefloue, why? You won last week's poll with that amazing poem. What the heck happened? :(

I know...feels bad to have essentially given up after such a positive response last week. I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest. Mentally, emotionally, I got really tripped up by this topic. I've been working and traveling abroad for the past ten months, with no predetermined time frame for my return. Those ten months have been divided across six countries, so it's been a very charged time for me in a lot of ways. For my brain at this moment, having to write on this prompt could only mean making sense of what I'm doing with my life. It's the elephant in the room that I've been desperately ignoring. I'm just not prepared or equipped to confront it, let alone craft a worthy piece about it.

Aw, that's even sadder. The topic is just too close to home, and it's impossible to see past the reality to write fiction while at the same time, you don't want to delve into where it's taking you. I've been in that position with other topics, several of them this season.

Well, I'm truly sorry. I'm still thinking about last week's poem, which was just mind-blowing. I hope you'll have the opportunity to keep going, even just on a Home Game basis. Your talent should not be left to lie fallow!

Thanks for always supporting a fellow writer, halfshellvenus. It's definitely meaningful to me. I expect to appear in the Home Game fairly consistently! Here's to a far-from-fallow 2019 :)
