I'm thankful that I'm first and that I received this Green Room. Due to some #%@! computer/Dreamwidth/ settings problems I have not received a Green Room (including the ballot) for quite a few days now, so I had no idea what was going on, or even that voting had started. I took a bye this week, but it wasn't meant to be a bye from Idol!

Thankful for the soon to happen birth of Baby HoneyB! Induction begins later this PM, but natural pre birth has already shown signs, so...
I know we’ve had many Idol births. Have we had an Idol grandbaby yet?

We've had a couple Idolers who are grandparents. But I'm trying to think have we ever had one who become a grandparent during the course of Idol? I believe Alex may have been the first in that.

I'm helping host a dinner for the spousebeast's best friend...AND did all the shopping (a 22lb turkey is enough for three people, right?). I am having a REALLY rough week, but getting together for a meal and celebrating their birthdays the next day (which is going to involve a Black Friday breakfast that is largely based on wild rice pancakes and bourbon. And purchases where you say "WHY DID YOU LET ME BUY YOU THAT!?!?!?)...it's pretty much perfect. I am so lucky to have chosen famiy.

This is easy — I am super thankful for the little girl sleeping in my arms right now! I got induced Monday night and ended up having to have an emergency c-section, and then we had to stay longer in the hospital because baby girl had jaundice and they needed to put her under the lights, but we are home now and everyone is healthy. Insanely exhausted, but healthy.

Hopefully I'll figure out how to balance baby and Idol so I can actually read and comment on entries before the deadline. I feel bad I totally missed all of last week!

I think you will find a way to balance baby and idol. When Teddy was littler and slept in those short 2 hour bursts it gave me time to play on my phone (writing or reading or video games.

Oh boy. Uh. I'm under a major deadline at work, and I have eight people descending on my house on Thursday. I am not calm and not particularly thankful right now. Ask me on Friday, when we're eating leftovers and groaning about how much pie is left. :)

Well our Thanksgiving was over a month ago, but I do wish all of you celebrating this week a wonderful holiday.

Today I thankful for finally getting everything read and commented on, and my voting done. Now I don't have to go crazy tomorrow. :-)

I’m thankful I got to see one of my favorite ever authors, Neil Gaiman, speak in our local symphony hall last night. Amazing. And that I got to hang out with red panda cubs today!! And that it was sunny out. And thankful a friend is hosting Thanksgiving which basically takes all pressure off completely which I love! And that somehow we’re having 3 Thanksgivings this weekend!!! Lots of people who all want to celebrate. I love it! So thankful for all the lovely people I know.

And not to be all cheeseball or whatnot but I’m thankful for this season of Idol too! It’s nice to be reading and writing with all of you! <3

That sounds AWESOME, about meeting up with Neil Gaiman! He's a genius, so I bet the lecture he was giving was amazing! Any new American God's updates you can give us? ;D When can we expect the new season? I thought the first was OUTSTANDING! =DD

Wow, when you said you were having THREE Thanksgivings, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop in this comment! -grin- Like, I thought you were gonna groan, "WHYYYY HAVE WEEEE DONNNEEE THISSSSS?!" But nope! You're so happy!! And I'm happy for you!! It's just that even one Thanksgiving stresses me out beyond all reason!! -laugh- So, therefore, I have posited that you an incredibly strong, incredibly brave soul! HAH!

Thank you, yes, he was amazing! He read from Good Omens, two stories from Trigger Warning, and a poem he wrote for a Women in Science event that his wife, Amanda, participated in. I wish I had updates for American Gods!! I want a second season too. I loved the book and am enjoyed season 1 a ton, too!

Ha, yeah, tomorrow my friend, Sarah, is having us over, and is super excited to have people come to her home, as she lives a little out in the woods, and a lot of people don't make the trek. But she loves hosting. And I'll gladly make the trek!! My brother and his wife and sons will be with her family over Thanksgiving. So we won't be seeing them, and to make up for that, my brother and his family are hosting a Thanksgiving of sorts on Sunday. And on Friday, a group of friends who get together monthly is going to have a little Friendsgiving celebration. They should all be really good!
