We're starting Spring Break this week and had all sorts of plans - none of which has ended up happening. So no idea what we are doing for the next few days! How about you?

Well, it sounds like on Tuesday I'll be buried alive in snow and devoured by yeti. So...I'm not making any long range plans for the week.

You too? Last I heard it's supposedly anywhere between 12-18". And of course I'm scheduled to work both Tuesday and Wednesday :p

But...if my dog walker can't get here either day there's no way I'm leaving The Boyz by themselves in a middle of a nor'easter...

I'm "only" scheduled for 8-12", though that's up from an estimate of 5-8" yesterday. Plus the 40 mph wind gusts and hordes of carnivorous yeti. Blarg.

We had a true North Carolina snowstorm last night - two inches and it's already mostly gone. Now they're saying the F-word in the weather forecasts (freezing rain) so who knows how the next couple of days will go. As I often tell people, here in the mountains they'll tell you tomorrow what the weather was today.

Daylight Savings has thrown me for an utter loop. We visited a friend last night and stayed waypast my bedtime, LOL. By the time we got home, changed the clocks, took care of The Boyz, etc., it was almost midnight, which meant I'd be getting minimum 2 hours of sleep.

Heh, I don't even remember if I did sleep, now that I think of it. And if that's so, then why am I still awake????

We are having a crazy false spring in between hail and snow. So..........I'm OUTSIDE. Went for a two hour hike down to a gorgeous mountain creek just off the ridge where I live. I saw a salamander! And bear scat!

My neighbour gave me a bag of organic meyer lemons and now I'm making lemon cookies.

Almost done with the Idol reading. Great responses this week to the prompt!

I have no plans for the coming week, apart from talking to the insurance adjuster and doing inventory for items that were lost in the fire. I have some work-stuff I have to do Monday/Tuesday, and then the rest of it is probably going to be me taking inventory of items and arguing with insurance about what they will/won't cover.

FYI, y'all, if you are renting and don't have renter's insurance, get it. Just...do it. It's $10 a month when I bundle it with my auto police, with a fairly low deductible (I think it's like $100 for my policy), and if you're like me, it covers all of your stuff (my policy covers up to $50K; total value of items lost is probably ~$5000). If I didn't have renter's, I'd be pretty hosed right now—the landlady's insurance policy is covering structural damage and cleanup, but it wouldn't have replaced our washer/dryer or any of the other myriad stuff we lost.

(For those not on my flist: minor housefire in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Fire department incident report says they were dispatched at 1:02AM; fire probably started about five minutes before that. No one was hurt, house is largely intact—it started at our dryer and burned part of our attic and our storage room. Only lost stuff so far has been the units themselves and whatever we had in storage—mostly my canning stuff, including my industrial juicer, and my roommate's camping gear.)

My kids start spring break on Thursday. I'm probably going to spend time until then trying to get the energy to clean house. Or maybe I'll just make them help me with it when they start break. I'm also trying to decide what to do with birthday gift cards to Amazon (thinking a new tablet). Starting Friday, however, I'll be at Tennessee Game Day, playing board games until I can't see straight!
