I have an idea...but the nuts and bolts of it are still scattered across the workroom floor. This may be one I need to just START writing and piece it together as I go.

I'm going to work today. I know I am supposed to stay home to prove a point, and trust me, I know the point needs to be made, but I am a public servant.

There are kids who need me, I have a job to do...it seems selfish to me to stay home when it would uncomfortably impact my coworkers and patrons. Again, I know, that's the point, to show how necessary women are, and in my library system of 125 employees, if all the female employees stayed out today, there would be, seriously, 14 people coming to work. And they are primarily IT and facilities maintenance who work at Headquarters, not in the branches, so...our patrons would be up the creek.

I can't do that to them, even to prove a point. They aren't the ones who need to be reminded of the importance of women. They thank us every day!

In other news, I started doing my taxes, realized I don't have all my husband's documents and he is out of town, and had to give up about halfway in. Damn! I was hoping to mark that off my to-do list early!

I had my taxes done least week. I owe the state a whopping $1, lol.

We have been really lucky so far to get refunds, but we still have two kiddos at home that help with credits. We do the taxes each spring, get the refund and then use the refund money to pay for their summer camp each year...then get a childcare credit the next year that we roll back into summer camp...and on and on, lol!

I was really afraid I was going to make my comment and get blasted for being anti-feminist. I'm so pro-female my ovaries ache when I listen to Trump or Conway, but there are different ways to express feminism, lol!

I didn't even realize until I got to work that today was protest day. My desire to get paid for a full 40-hour week trumps (ha!) my desire to make a grand, ultimately meaningless gesture, so I stayed put. Also, I was the only one in my department until noon so I kind of had to be here.
