We had a nice potluck dinner with 7 of us (including my kid). Pasta, nutloaf, stir-fry, strawberry shortcake (mmmmmm).

Hubby and I went out to lunch on Valentine's Day, since Tuesday was my bowling league night. It was a lovely lunch. Bowling, eh. We only won one game.

On Sunday, out for dinner, I asked my hubby "we're not doing anything for Valentine's this year, right?"

He answered "When is Valentine's day?"

So we had a lovely, and very ordinary, Tuesday.

We didn't really do anything special for Valentine's Day, but today is our anniversary. I got suckered into work, but the spousebeast and I met up after for beers at the dive bar where we held our reception seven years ago, then decided we needed chili dogs and ice cream (and another beer) for supper.

It was a lovely way to celebrate the day.

As for me, the "special" thing I did for Valentines Day was get seriously ill: Fever of 101.5 F (38.6 C), clogged chest, shivering, general aches and pains, etc. But I did not share the experience with the special person in my life... because I don't have a special person in my life.

For Valentine's Day I did my laundry. This was important because visiting my friend in hospital every other day or so requires clean clothes. I may also have ordered pizza.

The special thing I did on Valentine's Day was volunteer at my kindergartener's school for the class party. I was the photographer and got lots of super cute shots of the kids. And it was just super adorable seeing how excited all the 5 and 6 yr olds were. I love being there! I also drew my hubs an 8-bit heart for the occasion. We're pretty low key in general. Oh and we ordered Indian food, which we tend to do any time we want to make the day a little more special! :D
