So make sure you are getting out and supporting your favorites.

Speaking of "getting out" this morning I went out to the manatee viewing center. It's only my third time being out there, and it's one of those experiences where you can get a little overwhelmed.
Over a hundred manatees (some of them babies) gathered in the waters around the power plant. (they come there when the water starts getting cold). Seeing manatees in the wild is one of the cool things about living in Florida, but that many of them, in one place just kind of makes you take it all in.
Especially when you see the scars from the propellers that have hit them over the years.
That kind of makes you hate people.

Speaking of hating people, I met
lawchicky last night... heh, oh come on, like I was going to miss *that* transition!
Actually, I met *three* Idolers last night! I'll admit, I completely forgot her husband was
handtruck who briefly participated in Season 8. Also, for some reason, I didn't connect the dots, until we were introduced that they were the parents of Idol Minor fan favorite Olivia!
I always have so much fun meeting Idolers, and it's (almost) never enough time. (I've stayed with a couple before, so there was enough time there. :D) It's always cool - and a little surreal to come face-to-face with the fact that there are actual people on the other side of the internet.
(and yes, I did brutally kick her like the hippie she is. She deserved it for taking a bye! :D)

Date: 2017-01-08 05:54 pm (UTC)I think it's so cool to meet online friends. I did back in the old days before I had a computer that allowed me to see graphics. There is something so different about meeting people you "know" but don't know.
Happy Sunday!

Date: 2017-01-08 10:58 pm (UTC)Yes, folks, I too have met Gary, and he is real!
Also, Manatees are super cool! My daughter was obsessed w them in 3rd grade. We took her to Homasassa Springs to see them. We have 2 at the Cincy Zoo. Girl Scouts got to do a "Sleep Over w the Manatees" one time. So fun to lay there in a sleeping bag in the dark and watch them glide and bop around!
They've had so little respect from humans.
http://www.savethemanatee.org/ For years we participated in this by "adopting" manatees for our kids. They loved it!
