Green Room - Break Week - Day 13
Jan. 2nd, 2017 01:37 pmWe made it!
The final day of the break! If you are looking for something to do, we have some cool stuff to read: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/961914.html and maybe contribute some of your own entries to the mix!
That officially closes at 8pm EST.
The new topic will be up tonight, and we will be back in business! Hopefully everyone is still paying attention, I just knew you wouldn't be over the holidays and decided to be nice. Hopefully Idol doesn't end up paying for that with too many people just wandering back off into the wilderness.

What was your favorite thing to happen to you, or yours, over Idol's break period?

First I have to say
Date: 2017-01-02 06:55 pm (UTC)Second I have to say my favorite thing is the utter terror I now feel that the jobs I applied for in Washington DC will call me in for an interview.

Date: 2017-01-02 07:30 pm (UTC)Best movie I saw over the break was Hidden Figures. Highly recommended, everyone should go see it.
Best purchase over the last two weeks, flights and accommodation so I can go to Seattle for their improv festival next month, and see some friends who are performing there. Anyone doing Idol living in the Seattle area? I've never been to Seattle before.
I have 5 improv performances scheduled so far this month, with potentially one more to be scheduled. This is my busiest performance month yet. I'm intentionally not signing up for any classes on top of this because I need to have time for non-improv related activities, like Idol. Phew!

Date: 2017-01-03 12:55 am (UTC)That dinner, having it with family, was by far the best part of the break period for me. Though I have to say, the octopus wasn't for me.

Date: 2017-01-03 01:17 am (UTC)My favorite was the pork belly, but they were all delicious. The octopus was good, but I didn't like the texture. I love the taste of clams, mussels, oysters, etc., but that gummy, chewy texture just doesn't sit well with me for some reason.
But yeah, I'm definitely going there again. The food was SO GOOD. Plus, it's on a boat, which is also awesome.

Date: 2017-01-03 03:33 pm (UTC)In a BOAT? what a cool idea for a restaurant space! Octopus can be finicky, I Ike it best grilled or braised so the rubbery aspects don't come through as much. Glad you had an amazing time!

Date: 2017-01-03 10:55 pm (UTC)She was built in 1904 and has sailed around the world. The boat was turned into a restaurant in 1975.
The food is pricey, but the experience (and the taste of the food, of course) totally makes it worth it.

Date: 2017-01-03 01:11 am (UTC)Not to brag but I got tickets from my SO for Christmas to see Hamilton on Broadway on my 30th birthday in September. I am so stinking excited and overwhelmed already!
