Vote - Week 3

I'm not going to lie, going into this week I knew it was going to be brutal in terms of bye-outs, and it was. The following folks have byed-out, meaning that they used up both of their byes, and then missed today's deadline.

Quite a few of them had wrote something for the Week 0 Introduction topic though, and I'll admit, there were some of the newbies that I thought we would be seeing a *really* long time this season.

There's still hope for them to come back via Second Chance, later this season. But for now - yeah, it's brutal.

But here's the cool thing - this wasn't the entire list of people who could have byed-out this week. There were some who have come to fight the odds and stay in this thing! Which makes me extremely happy to see! Hopefully that will be the case in Week 4 as well - and the number of those who want to fight for their spot in this competition continues to grow.

Even with those loses though, the game moves forward - and we lose some more.

This week, it's a CONTESTANT ONLY vote. Meaning you need to be a current (non-eliminated) contestant in order to vote.

You have until Tuesday, Dec 20th at 7pm EST to submit your choices.

We are going to be losing between 2-5 contestants this week. (depending on where the vote separation happens to land).

I find these votes where you e-mail in your choices really stressful. I like the anonymity of the vote poll!

Oh well. Time to bust out my spreadsheet and get reading. 4 days is not a long time to get through so many people and the pressure is there! n...n;;;

"Easier" topics tend to be a matter of opinion. I've had ones that seemed "super easy" that have caused folks to go into fits and Ives that I thought would be challenging where people shrugged and hit it out of the park

Wow. That's a PILE of bye outs! Several are vets too, ouch.

You should have seen me last night trying to post my bye before 8:00. I'd hoped to write something but last week was nuts with holiday things. Then, last night, my last chance, my son says "Mom, my throat really hurts..." And we headed to the doctor. There was no wifi at the dr so I had to wait till we left and went to Wal-Mart to post it! I was like "Kids, stand here with me for two minutes in the bread aisle while I post something important - sorry!"

I don't understand. I thought if you post you'll use a bye it's a bye and if you just miss the deadline it's a bye as well. And why would someone vote for a bye?

In the past, if you didn't post a bye, you could be disqualified.
Perhaps this has changed?
But, yes, there really isn't a reason to vote for a bye, as it is a bye so voting won't impact the person that week...unless you just feel like voting for fun!

The *old old* rule was you had to declare your bye. If you missed and didn't declare it, you were eliminated.

The *old* rule was that if there were two byes, you had to declare the second one - because at that point I figured you may have just wandered off and didn't want to keep you an extra week.

The current rule? You get them automatically.

I don't know if my memory has gone and seasons always start this time of year, or if I was just younger then ::dramatic motion::, but it seems to me whenever the season starts at the end of the year like this, I just end up fizzling and bye-ing out because of lack of "oomph" or time, or... my fantastical list of excuses that I give myself when the weather gets cold.
