So far mine has been running errands. I'm sure the rest will be "Idol related"/running more errands. If I sit for too long, I'm sure my weekend will be decided for me. ;)

LJ's blocked at work. Well, partially. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, so whether I'd be able to finish/post/link back a post on one of the busiest weekends of the month at a bank, well...

Date: 2016-12-03 07:42 pm (UTC)We HAVE internet, just some sites are blocked (facebook, twitter, tumblr... oh god if I could get on tumblr? That'd be it. I'd never be productive). And it makes sense, because well -- it'd be all too easy to share sensitive information through various websites. Working at a bank is boring work, though, sometimes. Even when you work at the busiest branch in four regions...
Thankfully, Ao3 is not blocked. ;) So I can at least read some good shit while at work. Same with amazon reader. :) I just can't do anything LJ-related...

Date: 2016-12-04 11:26 am (UTC)You can have it on you, but it needs to be on silent. You can't use it when you're working at all, unless you have special permissions (our store manager). You can use it (again, while on silent/not using any camera apps) in the break room while you are on lunch, and that's it.
This was changed recently -- it used to be that you weren't allowed to have the phone at all on you while you were in the branch.
Most of us (me included, sometimes) just sneak into the closet/the storage room/the vault to check our phones. These are places that don't have cameras. And we DO have a camera in the vault, it's just in the small tiny section where we actually move money around, not in the larger portion with the safe deposit boxes. I don't carry my phone on me at all, though. It stays in my purse 'til lunch (and the purse stays in the closet all day).
I absolutely wouldn't want to see a teller with their phone on them, tbh. But it does disrupt our day sometimes when tellers sneak off to answer texts -- if they aren't careful when they do it. (sigh)

Date: 2016-12-03 07:03 pm (UTC)I started my day with an Elf on the Shelf Welcome Party - we did a storytime and crafts to welcome the library elf back. Now we will move him around the branch each morning. he gets up to some serious shenanigans!
Tonight I am taking the kiddos to see Santa and then afterward we are going to Bucca di Beppo where it is our Christmas tradition to sit in the kitchen to eat- where you get to watch the chefs - and devour too much Italian food and drink some Prosecco - me, not the kids, although I'll probably give them a sip as well.
Tomorrow is our American Girl Doll Holiday Tea. 55 little girls, darling dresses, cute dolls. We will drink fruity teas with our pinkies in the air, make doll tutus and beaded name bracelets for both girl and doll and decorate cupcakes. I am SO not a girly-girl but this is an adorable chance to pretend I am!
I have a great idea for my entry...I just have no idea when I'll find the time to write it!

Anyway, Oakley had a chunk taken out his face and forehead and he's been acting weird since, like he has to keep orienting himself. We're wondering if he suffered the canine equivalent of a concussion...?
SO's keeping an eye on him while I'm at work. If he's still acting that way when I return home, we have no choice but to take him to the emergency vet :(

Date: 2016-12-04 12:22 pm (UTC)So after over half a dozen false starts yesterday I was beginning to lean toward taking a bye (never a good thing so early in the season, not really because I might need it later but more because doing so plays tricks with my concentration and determination). And then I just went and wrote the entry start to finish barring minor correction in under half an hour this morning.
So I am now free to run errands and prepare little somethings for members of my philosophy club. See, this year, it was decided that the New Year tree at the philosophy school I have just joined will be decorated with wishes, however that may be, and I had this idea to make little origami boxes for wishes for all the members of my group. Something small and easy, and and at the same time handmade and unusual because I doubt others had the same crazy idea.
Well, I say easy. There is this one crucial fold in the box that is not obvious at first, haha.
