I think this weekend I officially became an old cranky bastard (in a way that I was only "pretending" to be before). A teenager was annoying me to the point of wanting to just start yelling at him, pretty much just by being a teeenager. ;)

It'a a good thing he wasn't actually on my lawn at the time!

Yesterday I watched my niece in Sarasota graduate from high school. Then the other grandma, ( not my mom), treated for lunch out.

Today is a good off day plus a neighborhood power walk.

Picked up my violin for the first time in about a year and played some duets with a cellist friend. It was a great feeling. :)

There were no teenagers on my lawn. There was a gaggle of small children supervising themselves, but they were pretty cute and it would suck to be cooped up on a day like today, so I had a fair bit of patience for them careening themselves back and forth across the sidewalk.

I'm not so much worried about kids on my lawn as I am the English Ivy climbing up my trees. I got three of them cleared yesterday and managed to cut myself in the process. But my thumb will heal while the ivy will die

I took the weekend mostly off from the Internet and went for a pair of really long walks, including a remarkable one called the Lanikai Pillbox Hike (http://www.unrealhawaii.com/2011/09/lanikai-pillboxes-and-crag/). Its really as amazing as it looks in those photos.
