Work Room - Week 20
Apr. 25th, 2016 10:15 pmThere's a different sense of balance that comes with doing two pieces in the space where you would normally take to due one.
People get into patterns and schedules - but deadlines (Idol or otherwise) don't also fit to those. Sometimes you need to shake things up a little bit.
You have four topic choices, and need to pick two of them to write. http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/924359.html
Which ones are speaking to you? Which square peg are you going to try to fit into the square hole and which into the oval?

Date: 2016-04-26 02:19 am (UTC)Those are some crap topics.
And you only gave us four. We have to pick half of them.
Sadist. :P

Date: 2016-04-26 05:34 am (UTC)So, I need at least 5 days for two of these. Especially THESE, if you know what I mean. Ugh.

Date: 2016-04-26 04:05 am (UTC)Though if I were to write something, I'd probably look at game night and take something like 'Sorry' and cross-reference it with 'Inglorious Bastards.' Of course, shoot-outs where everyone dies are a little passe', so maybe "wrong" is relative. And the narrator gets the [noun, plural] in the end because the attempts to fail were botched at every step.
Of course it's me, so I'd also get 150 words in, get bored, and decide "gone wrong" means taking a sharp right-hand turn at Albuquerque, and having the narrative derail completely, either into another story (caused by someone at a bar trying to find 'the game' on TV, if that's not too Bugs Bunny) or into several stories. Possibly in 2-5 split-columns.
But then, unseen deus ex machina is a bit cliche', so we might need yet another layer here. Which is where the killer meatball-people from Enceladus factor in ...

Date: 2016-04-26 07:26 pm (UTC)Sigh. I guess I'm going to have to let the prompts inspire me this time.
I rather like the prompts this week actually. They're meaty. Even the non-Meatball prompts.

If anyone needs me, I'll be over in the corner contemplating the aging process.
