We had people come in from SCG last night: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/903620.html

Which is great, but right now contestants need to be concerned about who will still be in *tonight*! (there's a deadline): http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/902097.html

I had an amazing day yesterday only to come home from depressing news.

The Good:
Friend got me a copy of The Art of Mad Max: Fury Road after a mention I made on Facebook
Same friend invited to Full House The Musical when his original friend pulled out on her ticket.

(the bad was that Hayabusa, professional wrestler of Japan fame, passed away. I am not letting it overshadow the fun I had.)

Full House as in the TV show? Or something else?

There's a musical I'm tempted to see in S.F., for the first time in ever. Terrence Blanchard's "Champion: An Opera in Jazz."

It's about boxing, which is kind of a "Nay" for me, but the story sounds interesting, and jazz-style sounds SO much more interesting than Sondheim-knockoff. Especially because I don't really like Sondheim.

So, you'll either be watching Mad Max this weekend or going to a musical? Or both? That will be fun. :D

It's a parody Musical based on Full House. Same company has done Saved by the Bell and Showgirls. I went last night. It was hilarious and they hit all the points including adding things from Fuller House (the musical opened and existed before Fuller House was announced.)

I'm already seen Mad Max, but now that I have the art book I'll probably rewatch it with new info in my head.

I actually have NO weekend plans though.

Hayabusa's death is really sad. The man gave his body to his artform. Very innovative, and I bet a lot of the young guys learned a lot from him. RIP

My entry is done, but needs titling and posting-- so that's good.

I'll get back to you on other good if I ever wake up. The alarm went off 30 minutes ago, and I woke up feeling groggy and dizzy and like I'd slept on my neck wrong. I'm best suited for going right back to sleep right now!

Too groggy to tell whether I might actually be coming down with something... \o?

I read this as your entry needs "tilting and pesting," and was trying to figure that out for a moment, but the instant image was amusing! XD

As I get older and my eyesight/parsing grow less sharp, I am FAR more amused by misread versions of things than the disappointing reality. ;)

Now I'm wondering how I could make that entry more pesty? :D

I'm going to a craft market with a friend who i met there the year before. I sell my artwork and she is an independent consultant for a beauty line. Earning my own money always feels great : D

Not the end of the world, but yesterday I got informed at work that I had missed a couple of important deadlines of a financial nature. I doubt I'll get fired over the mess, but I'm sure there will be consequences; I just don't know how severe they'll be yet. Could be I just get a "stern talking to", could be *MUCH* worse. We shall see...

I am having an amaaaazingly productive day, and it has chocolate in it, which is always nice. I got groceries, cleaned the kitchen, did some other chores, and now I'm working my way through the pile of slush reading that's been threatening to overwhelm me (two batches done, working on the third now). Also, baking cookies for my awesome neighbor with the snowblower who cleared our driveway the other day. This weekend promises to have tasty spaghetti sauce in it, and a meeting of my local critique group, and a whole lot of board gaming. It'll be a good time.

I hope your weekend has some good stuff in it, too, Gary!

*whimpers*

Baking cookies for other people always means sampling spares!

Why do I not have cookies? :(

The good news is I picked up my new reading glasses. Now I just have to figure out where I put them down.

I'm excited to read all the entries!

Today I applied for a job.

Also today I discovered there's a free book store in my town. They like donations if you can give them (monetary or book), and there's 1 shelf of better-condition books for sale (for like $3 each), but the rest is freeeeeeeeee! It's like a library but not! I love it!

I got a postcard from one of my best friends! I got my entry finished and posted before I did fun stuff today. I saw my nephew and snuggled him (he's 6 months old and has the best huge squishy cheeks!). Got a new book for my kiddo. Started reading a new (to me) book (Cat's Cradle, Vonnegut).

I'll hopefully see my bro, sis in law and baby nephew again this weekend, and cute kid birthday party to attend on Sunday that my kid and I are both excited for. :)

My Pathfinder group met and our session was awesome. Our DM had a hangover (his 22nd birthday party was yesterday) so our characters did nothing but sit around the campfire talking about their feelings. That's what I'm About.
