This is LJ Idol.

It’s a special mini season. It is called Friends and Rivals. This is Week 7.

OK. The contestants had the choice of several different topics, they each wrote one of them. Those entries are linked in the poll below.

You can vote for as many of them as you want to support. Because that’s the name of the game: If you love something, support it. Vote for it. Comment to the writers letting them know what you liked about it. Tell your friends about those entries so that they can come do the same.

Before we get to that though, we are losing our friend baxaphobia, who had to drop due to RL - and a couple bye-outs (people who missed the deadline and were out of byes): lapis_lazuli615 and muchtooarrogant

If you are with a team (the Friends) this week is a lot easier, the bottom two teams (the votes of the individuals on a team will be added together and then divided by the number of active entries) will be losing one member. (the one with the fewest votes). In other words - the Friends will be losing 2.

The Rivals? They will be losing 5.

Well no, not really. I expected things to be tougher for the rivals this week, but wasn't expecting a massacre! I actually empathize because until this giant twist, being in the Friends group has been statistically a lot worse, and I'm still kind of upset we lost our group leader over it last week. But it's the nature of the game, and the game is cleverly kept interesting week to week. I hope I can make it this week because I'm eagar to see what will occur next week.

The lack of weekends to write killed me. The new job just doesn't give me any time to "think" - at least not about anything not work related - and my week nights get super full this time of year.

I'll try to home game, but without weekends.... I don't know if it will happen.

My sincere thanks to Gary and everyone else in the competition. It was a fun ride! Unfortunately, when the weekend isn't included as part of the writing schedule, I don't have enough time to put something together. I'll be watching and reading though. :)

I'm glad you've enjoyed my non-fiction stuff. I used to be about half and half, but the last couple of seasons (mini or full) I've been focusing on fiction. It almost felt like "going backwards", but I'm glad I did. I liked the interaction from it. :)

Fortunately, I have a new job. Unfortunately, it gives me little time to think about anything during the day except work - unlike my last job - and my weeknights get terribly busy this time of year. If I could have had weekends to write, I might not have byed out. :(
