Christmas shopping! But it's nasty here today -- sleet/freezing rain that's supposed to be changing over to snow. We can't take the fur kidz out because it's too icy.

As for my day... I'm hoping to (at least) put the lights on the tree this morning. MOMS Club has a get together at Chuck E. Cheese together so Teddy and I are heading there. My dad and step-mom are coming over so I can get some pictures off of their camera. I'm baking some chocolate chip cookies. And I'm working anywhere from 4 to 6 hours tonight.

Yep, got a full day today. Hopefully there will be some time for new topic writing in there as well.

My oldest has a cold, so I'm at home today. Don't know what I'll be doing today. Maybe change out the dead lights on the tree. The last bit of working strand croaked over the weekend. stupid lights.

1) Pick up dry cleaning
2) Drive a dear one to the airport (*sad sigh*)
3) Drop one of my sewing machines off for repairs
4) Costco
5) Cook dinner (chicken, rice, and fresh veg)
6) Pack for my travel on Tuesday

Oh, and goof off. I am good at that.

Gary, if you're still avoiding yesterday's post, do not be alarmed our fearless leader.I can assure you most people responding were very positive about what you had to say - affable, agreeable and accepting!

As for today, I will be biting my nails until the last votes come in, then hopefully gearing up for this week's topic. We are recovering from the madness that was the Nutcracker. My daughter had a part this year and we've spent 4 hours a day at the theater since Thursday. I am worn out!!

Snow day! Well, ice day. So I have thus "called in sick" to work and still have to do three rollouts from home. Bleh. But the kids are so far being cute and are off cleaning their craft area (in prep to mess it up again) despite the horrid start to the day.

See at 6:30am, no schools were closed nor delayed. So we got up, got ready, rushed into the car at 7:30 and after a bloody HALF HOUR of trying to crack the ice off my car, I simply could NOT believe they had school... so I sent them inside and we checked again, and yep, canceled.

I guess at least we got a good start on the day?

And it means no one is looking over my shoulder as I haunt the poll. And I can knit! I want to make a scarf to go with the muppet sweater.

Schools around my way are open, but to the west and north of us they're either closed or have a 1-2 hour delays. And this is only in a span of less than 10 miles. The middle part of the state got pretty clobbered, though, from what I saw on the news earlier. But then again they always do.

I had an essay exam for American Lit at 8am, which is a full hour and a half before my class usually starts, so I'm exhausted. Now I have to finish editing a six page paper, write two more eight page papers that I haven't even started yet, put together my final portfolio for Fiction Writing, and then take another essay exam (for Presidential Politics) at 1:15. Needless to say, I'll be happy when it's Wednesday and I'm DONE.

76 degree high today! Virginia is having a very very strange winter.

My toes are bare and wiggling, though. Whoo hoo! :) I hate shoes.

I actually started as a misplaced EE major. After one semester I knew this was not for me. When I told my adviser I'd be transferring out, she asked to what major. I said I didn't know, maybe theatre. She said, "You'll be happier there."

Ah, minikin and I are relaxing and pampering ourselves out in California!

We're staying at the Laguna Beach Spa Resort (http://www.lagunacliffs.com/?src=ppc_google_map_brandad) until Friday morning. Today, I'm getting the Ultimate Package from the salon (hair consultation, cut and color, and manicure). I don't remember what Minikin is getting done today, but we're both going to be pampered! We've got massages scheduled for Wednesday, yay!

Obviously, I'm off work all week and can participate in the GR a little more, w00t.

OTOH, I may not need a manicure, since I may have no nails left by the time the poll closes in 3 hours -- AAAAAAHHHH!
