LJ Idol Season 9 is over!

Our winner has been crowned http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/851230.html and now it's time for a couple last details to wrap up things up as the cleaning crew takes over the Green Room to clean it up for next time!

- If you want to become a Patron, and support LJ Idol you can do so at: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=70027 There's also a "two for one" option for the upcoming mini-season, if you are interested.

- If you want to help Idol but really love shopping at Amazon, the perfect solution is to go through this link: http://astore.amazon.com/li0cd-20 when you shop!

- If you want to help Idol, but are unable to do either of those (or just don't want to) - then spread the word! Let people know that LJ IDOL will be coming back and they should come out to join the fun!

In the spirit of that last one, we always cap the season with a Friending Frenzy!

So, if there are people you have been meaning to friend this season, or just want to introduce yourself in hopes of meeting some new folks, this is great opportunity to do that.

Tell your friends!

Some say "LJ is dying", but maybe that means we are also becoming a tighter knit group! Spread to word to people looking for others with active Livejournals. You don't get much more "active LJers" than Idol folks! :D

Hey there - I'm Laura, an unassuming secretarial sort with a Starbucks addiction, one husband, six cats, and a ridiculous addiction to icons. My journaling is spotty lately and can range from a post every few days to two or three a month, but I welcome new friends (many thanks to those who have already added me) so add me if you want and I will add you back!

YESSSSSSS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! :3

Hi, I'm Jenn. I'm, uh, 27, I live in Oregon, I'm a graduate student in materials chemistry, and I post mostly about my life and whatever happens to cross my mind at any point in time. I'm...generally friendly? I dunno.

Idol is full of good people, so feel free to add me. :D

never a LJI'er

but have read and voted over the years.
I would say communities might be what keeps LJ alive...that and die hard LJ folks who haven't vacated to FB and elsewhere and forgotten LJ because it lacks that three line, instant gratification and family drama meltdowns.

Friend away if you so desire.

My name is Sevastian, I'm 26. I'm a Russian speaker and probably a future surgeon. My favorite hobby is video games - I like art games and horror in particular, and I'm active in the Outlast and Pathologic fandoms. Let's see ... aside from that, I'm a Leo sun, Leo moon, Scorpio rising, Year of the Dragon, INTJ, 5w4 sx/sp, 548 tritype. (What, I know it's unscientific, leave me alone.)

There's a little more about me on my about (http://meradorm.tumblr.com/about) page over on my Tumblr, which is where I am most of the time - please feel free to follow me on there, this journal will probably not be used for anything but writing.

Wow...I remember when post-Idol friending frenzies would've already been 2-3 pages long by the time I woke up!

I'm Kiz, the resident baker/cake decorator who works weird hours. I've been with LJ since 2001 and have been playing Idol since Season 4 with the exception of Season 6 (I didn't play but I hung out here in the GR a lot!)

I'm one of these people who will go down with the LJ ship. I post fairly regularly, read my FL every day, and comment when I can.

I welcome new friends! I didn't do any friending during the season but there were a few new people (and old!) people with whom I chatted and wanted to get to know better. If you feel the same way, feel free to add me and I'll add you back :)

LOL, I'm the opposite -- Scorpio sun with a Leo rising. My moon's supposedly in Sagittarius, IIRC from the chart I had done a few years ago.

I am a work-at-home mom who posts about pop culture (especially "American Idol"), poetry, my literary magazine (Wild Violet (http://www.wildviolet.net)), parenting, et cetera. Lately, my posts have been scattered, but I'm hoping to resume active posting and reading this summer, when my son's schedule is less full. Friends welcome!

I am an English teacher who is still trying to find the right word for the cold, fuzzy sensation that a really good villain can give me.

Friend me?

I'm devoted to the LiveJournal platform and read LJ daily, comment on flist entries, post regularly. I talk about writing, photography, Jungian psychology, fairytales, hillbillies, wolf dogs, fandoms, books, life, death. I filter original writing, but all you have to do is ask.

DO IT.

I'd be foolish to put my name up for new friends, given that I'm so involved in other Life Things right now, but I just wanted to say that the majority of my LJ friends, both past and present, came from this community. If you're shy and don't feel as though you can throw your hat in for this friendzy (although I'm not sure why you'd feel that way given the awesome community) then I can reassure you that the Idol crowd are really wonderful and you should absolutely jump right in.

I mean, I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted here, but still :)

We're all so friendly, everyone made friends with each other already?

Hello, my name is John -- I also answer to "Beldar" -- and I have a hat.

Unfortunately, I no longer have *this* hat, but a tweed trilby that is almost as nice.

Many here already have me as friend, and that was why I didn't do my traditional Friending Frenzy when I was eliminated from LJI Season 9. I had thought we were a fairly set little online family, I hope to be proved wrong. =)

I haven't given up on LiveJournal, either, and recently paid for another year.

EDIT TO ADD: Also note that I compete in LJ Idol with my writing account, [livejournal.com profile] beldarzfixon. Please consider adding it to your reading list.

Given how many contestants this season used their LJs primarily as a writing journal as opposed to a journal journal, though...maybe we shouldn't be so surprised?

Just an observation.

I'm Ryl. I post semi-regularly, at least once a week. I have a well-developed sense of sarcasm and I like lists. I also like LJ--I'm staying here until the internet collapses into a singularity.

I'm Kori, I'm 30, and I live in Pennsylvania just a smidge north of Pittsburgh in an interesting conglomeration of urban, suburban, country, and woods. I live with my amazing partner Nate and my cat Ghost. I work full time as a mental health counselor, and I love my job, but I love to write--it's been my goal since I learned what an author was. I write a lot about writing, and about my book, as well as my job and family and loved ones. I love magic and growing herbs and outer space, and I keep one toe firmly planted on Earth but that's all I can promise. I used to be terribly active on lj, then dropped off when it didn't seem anyone was around. I'm thrilled at the prospect of rejuvenating my journal and befriending new folks. I've had the loveliest time getting to know you all and would be honored to maintain our lj-friendships.

Elizabeth, 30, Oklahoma. I write from a chair that is surrounded by piles of books. My bio on my blog says, "I write and read and dig in the dirt" and that about covers it. For a living I write and edit and manage social media for companies and individuals. I'm back to LJ after being away for some time. This is the same journal I had when I was 18. Mostly I write about family and writing and the things I don't feel comfortable making public on my blog. I can promise how frequently I will update, but I do read daily and comment when I can.

And I'm an INFP and a Scorpio ;)

Hellllllooooooo LJ denizens! I'm Cislyn, aka [livejournal.com profile] lrig_rorrim (mirror girl backwards, for those who haven't parsed it yet). I live in Madison, Wisconsin with another human and three cats and soon I hope to have some frogs again. There's also an interesting collection of bacteria, books, plants, monsters, ideas, messes, and other living things in my general environs.

Now that I'm not Idoling, I'll primarily be using this journal to write about writing (meta-writing, whoooo) and the process of bravely seeking out new markets and maybe then being too chicken to submit stuff to them. And editing. Oh, so much editing. There will still be stories happening, but they'll definitely be behind a friend-lock, so if you want to see new fiction that slowly tumbles out of my brainmeats (and the nattering about its production) that's the place to be!

[livejournal.com profile] cislyn is where I post personal stuff that (mostly, usually) isn't writing related - I've got a permanent account from way back when, and gosh I love LJ. Mmmm words. Tasty words. I use it sporadically, though. Sometimes I'll make a post that's just a long list of things on my mind, other times I'll ramble out a review on a video game I've been spending too much time playing, and still others I'll try to work out some emotional foo that's been bothering me. If you're interested in that kind of thing (and I don't promise it's at all interesting. Heh) that's the place to be.

My commenting and interaction with both journals tends to be kind of spotty - if you're looking for someone who always has something to say, and will be interacting very regularly, I'm afraid I am not the lrig you are looking for. Move along, move along. I tend to say something when a) I have the social/interaction energy to do so and b) I have something to say that hasn't already been said, and which I think you would like or need to hear. That's not necessarily a frequent set of circumstances, but rest assured that I'm reading and lurking and see everything. Wait, that's not actually reassuring. I'm not some evil maniacal spybot, honest! Hey, where are you guys going...

I'm Jay, I'm in my twenties and from London. I'm very into fandom, especially fanfiction. I jump from fandom to fandom prolifically but at the moment am on the Island of Avengers-ville with a side city of Loki.

I don't post on my own livejournal very often. And when I do it's usually fiction. But if we become friends I will incessantly pester you with comments on your own posts. And you have no chance to retaliate. Now you know the heart of my evilness, enter if you dare ;).

You're INTJ too? There's another of us this season, who thought it was all oversimplified bunk, but that could just be the INTJ rejection of hive-thinking at work. ;)

Wish you were more active here, as I already have you friended!
