I do feel a little bad calling it a List of Shame, but you all seem to have fun with it, so I'll go with it.  :-)

I had a moment of panic on some of these names thinking that you'd posted and I just missed it.  Hopefully I'm just tired and thinking back to having to re-do the poll tables per [personal profile] clauderainsrm's evil instructions.  ;-)

So get crackin' on those posts!  Don't make me come over there.

There's some really good writers in there. I wonder if there's something TO that whole waiting until the end thing! Welfy did that a lot last season and won!

For me some entries need to be well thought out to be heartfelt and good, others need to be spontaneous... I think some writers specialize in one or the other, and some find their niche in different places on different days.

Process is a very interesting part of this competition.

Every approach I've had, mentally, has been very different so far. I foudn I can't write serious stuff at work, because I get too moody and emotional and I turn people off and offend the people who call in. I'm like that with good reading, too- I become very intense about it.

I would say the same about mental approach. I try to get some time to just focus on the topic for a little while, unless something immediately jumps to mind. And yeah, the topics are super hard hitting and take real consideration, so it's easy to get too intense and opinionated.

It's almost impossible for me to concentrate on anything well while at work. My best entries, pollwise, have been the ones written from home, with the exception of this one, (http://lacombe.livejournal.com/155435.html#cutid1) and I don't care that it didn't get votes because it's probably my personal favorite so far.

BTW- What's too intense and opinionated for this?

Hmmm. I guess I mean your mood, like you were talking about at work. Whatever you say and do gets tinged with what you're thinking about. Even if you don't actually talk about the topic your mind gets infused with it.

I absolutely agree. Dreams are similar in their effects on me too. One bad dream and I'm brooding all day long.
