You'd think so, but I've seen people off and on over the season saying that it matters and/or is unfair...

I don't really "get" it, but hey, to each their own, I guess. I've always voted and recced on what I like—but everyone's different, and if people wanna put that fine a point on it, that's on them. :)

It's "when I put up the poll".

It's one of those things - some people hate it, others are grateful for it - those people are going to vote accordingly.

I *do* think, at this point, that folks are less lenient about it. (if my inbox is any indication) I can't say "Yes. It was the deciding factor" or "No, it wasn't." But I'm sure it was *a* factor the same way some people won't vote for people doing other things that they don't like!

I don't want to turn away people who have actually wrote an entry.

The shipping does seem like a lot - but food is always more expensive, and after handling the cases for the ones we are hand delivering, I can see why it might be what it is... just keep in mind that the more you buy, the less it seems. :)

Cookies seem to the THE thing happening in town! Girl Scouts EVERYWHERE!

I attended Girl Scout Camp one summer (I must have been 11?) and one of the craft stations was all about making a ring out of a sawn piece of wood. A slightly-bit-bigger-than-a-finger-diameter tree limb was held by one little girl while another little girl took a hacksaw and sawed off 1/4 inch-wide rings, then the center was drilled out with a hand drill, and the ring sanded until it fit. Does this sound insanely dangerous? For eleven year olds? Yes, I agree. I still get squeamish thinking about how I was holding the stick too close to the saw and the blade jumped out of the cut and into my knuckles and sawed clear down into the bone and stuck there. That afternoon was the last I spent at Girl Scout Camp.

Gary, obviously what you were planning to tell them was to wish me (the notorious lurker) a happy birthday this week! ;)

All kidding aside, I completely get the need to write things down as you think about them. My memory has more holes than a rusty sieve. The true problem comes later though, when I forget where I put my notes.

As for Girl Scout Cookies, my husband spent $50 this year on them. Every time a new group would show up at work he'd buy a couple of boxes, and then donate to the program that sent boxes to overseas troops.
