Ugh, that referencing things that you don't get behavior is annoying. That happened at a job I started. They all knew each other so well, for years, and would reference stuff, and if I asked anything about it, they'd say, "It's too hard to explain." We were all in our late 20s at the time, but it felt like high school. Blech.
