Last night marked the start of Last Chance Idol, with the very first poll: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/786561.html so make sure to get out there - read, comment and vote your favorites to have the opportunity to get into the main competition!

It also marked the start of people emailing me saying that they were confused about when the deadline as and was there *any* shot of another opening to get into the competition?

Because "Last Chance" is kind of vague that way. ;)

My normal response would be "sorry", but (1) this is the last full season and (2) With that "unmentioned thing" hanging over me tomorrow, I want as much good karma as possible. Plus, I wasn't actually eliminating anyone this week from LCI.

So here is the deal: PEOPLE CAN SIGN UP UNTIL THE DEADLINE FOR WEEK 2'S ENTRY. Sign up, and submit your entry there, once the time comes If you do not, you are not in LCI and never will be. If you do, you can be a part of it. Until then, make sure to follow instructions over here: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/782944.html so that we know you are interested.

I think I'm being more than fair with this - and probably will be spark some of the "You're being TOO generous" cries of protest. But at the start of your average Idol season, I tend to be overly generous - to make up for when I'm not later in the season. :)

Don't worry, that balance won't be tipped in that direction for too much longer!

Today is the last day before "D-Day" of that thing I'm talking about - the last day for things to resolve themselves on their own. So if you are the kind of person who sends out good thoughts/lights candles/sacrifices goats/plots the death of my enemies/whatever and you have an extra wish to throw on that particular fire, I'd appreciate you doing so.

In other news, I have an idea, but I don't know if I have the time to execute it between now and the deadline. Working 3rds and subsisting on something like 4 hours of sleep does not produce much writing, from me. I'm hoping that between my nap later today and when the child gets dropped off at the ex's, I can somehow knock out an entry in like an hour. I hope.

Otherwise I'll be struggling to get it done at all, on Thursday. I think.

I want to read SCI, but I still need to get my own piece written. Maybe this will be more motivation to get started already.

Also, with us at 58 people currently, who knows how many leaving but some arriving for next week - I am holding out hope that byes will be good until the end of this month. We're going on a trip for our anniversary and while I'd like to write, I'd love to have the option to bag it without that being the end.

Today was one of .."those" days. I took a nap because of a sinus headache, during which my cat nearly set the place on fire by turning on the stove, and then I had to rush another cat to the vet where he is in observation with something nasty we're not sure about.
