100 Weeks

There are times when I may overlook something, and I'll get a friendly reminder via email about it.

I got one of those a few minutes ago, asking me to look into how many weeks they had. It was then that I noticed something staring right at me.

That someone had managed to hit that mark *2 weeks ago* and I had completely missed it!

Which (to me at least) is kind of funny, because she's the kind of writer that you might not notice at first, but as her work starts piling up you start going "Wait a second, she's really good!" and before you know it she's getting closer and closer to the end again!

Anyone who survives Idol intact has done something amazing. The people who keep doing it, season after season? Those people should probably be committed. ;) Getting to the point where you have survived 100 weeks of it? Yeah, that's padded room territory right there!

You have no idea how excited I am to have made it to 100 weeks. When I met up with alycewilson this spring we were talking about it and I said I thought I needed around 20 weeks this season to make the cut, and that was really my goal. I wanted to hit it before the competition ended.

The fact that there even is a 100 weeks club is a testament to how good this competition actually is. So I need to thank Gary for all of the time and effort he takes in creating and administering the game for all of us. LJ Idol has kept me writing through some of the busiest, craziest, and hardest times in my life. I know that, without it, I would not have followed through with my writing over the last few years. Also, thank you to the LJI Community, who is overwhelmingly positive and supportive, and through which I have met some truly wonderful people.
