Remember to vote for your favorites, that's the only way to keep them in the competition! If you are in the NSA, I'm sure you have an account that you can use to vote!

I'd suggest reading all of the entries! Because - who knows what activities are going on in there?!? Most of the people who come here are pretty darn sketchy and need to be thoroughly investigated! The best way to do that is by *voting to keep them in the competition* so that you can read more of their entries, to gain more information about them!

Ouch. That was really bad, Gary. But I love you for injecting humor into a distinctly unfunny development in the Middle East. It reminded me of a book I was just reading about the history of the Second City Players, "Second City: Unscripted," told by those who were involved. Apparently, they had a creative renaissance after 9/11 because they felt compelled to address the subject satirically, and everybody really, really needed that!

Right now I'm awaiting the chimney cleaning people. We got a deal for the whole bit for a more-than-reasonable price :) OTOH their window is anywhere between 11-1, so Max Dog and I are stuck here :p

I CANNOT WAIT to go away this weekend. It's for 2 nights, but I don't care. I NEED TO GET AWAY. I've been so full of piss-and-vinegar lately it isn't funny, and it's wearing on me more than it is on anyone around me. I wish I could hold up an apology sign then sleep for the next zillion years zzzzzzzzzzz

Minikin is hostessing a Dr. Who Watch party for the premiere of the new season this Saturday, so I've been busy perusing my Dining with The Doctor cookbook and finding cool and easy recipes to make!

There will be Bow Tie pasta, because bow ties are cool, and Fishy Daleks made from those frozen rhombus-shaped fish fillets, because THEY LOOK LIKE DALEKS anyway, amiright? They just need a little decorating with some ketchup, mustard, or tartar sauce, and a slice of black olive at the top for the eyestalk. *nods*

Can't wait for my vacation which starts in two days, and the trip to London we leave for next Wednesday, this week's entry's events notwithstanding.

But I need to find Russian-language tours in London for my mother *winge*. The one of the Tour that came up today sounds promising though.

There is a crapload of things to do beforehand, and as usual I only do them verry very slowly.

As a caterwaiter for the UNC football and basketball home games. *shakes head* Were it not for Kent, I wouldn't even pay attention to sports. Were it not for living in Chapel Hill, I doubt that I would even KNOW that they had a basketball team.

I was on vacation last week. I get in to work today and find out that two of my co-workers got fired and now I'm having to fly solo until they hire some new people. What really sucks is that one of the fired was the competent co-worker that I usually worked with and liked. I told those people not to burn the place down while I was gone and look what happens.

BUT...a couple of weeks ago I found an recipe online for no-churn ice cream. Seems you whip up some whipping cream, and while that's going on you gently warm a can of sweetened condensed milk, mix in whatever good(ies) you want, then gently combine it with the now-whipped cream, transfer it to a container, and pop it in the freezer for a few hours.

I'm dreaming of a fudge ripple chocolate chip type thing...and the heck with an actual dinner ;)

Grarg. First week of school, ever, for two Kindergardeners is hard. Everyone's doing well, but I am exhausted. I'm surprised more parents aren't chiming in on GRs with tales of timecrunch, but I think we 're geographically spread out enough and diverse enough that everyone's milage is varrying.
