A few words from clauderainsrm:

There was a surprised waiting for me when I got home tonight. It was a facebook notification that my niece Mackenzie had nominated me for the ALS challenge.

I had sworn that I wasn’t going to do it. But my niece asked me, so I pretty much had to do it!

I got home, mowed the lawn - came in, filled a bucket with cold water and all of the ice cubes we had - set my phone up at a safe distance with the video on, and dumped the bucket on my head!

I challenged a few people - but the big one is that I have now challenged all Idol contestants - past and present. So if you were even a little entertained by me dumping ice water on myself - go out and do it as well! I need a laugh!

Speaking of having a laugh - it’s time for the poll again!

My first LJ Idol bye out! I meant to drop earlier today because while I had plenty of ideas I've felt the last couple of weeks I've thrown something together and I didn't want to do that again because I know how hard everyone works. I plan on trying again if/when second chance comes around, just not sure if as me or as my alter self sestinaqueen. The fact I made it this far is pretty amazing to me

It's basically pouring a bucket of ice water over your head then donating $10 to ALS or foregoing the water and donating $100 to ALS. If you do the water, you then publically challenge others to do it, then they challenge others, etc. If you're challenged, you have 24 to complete it and you must video it, then post it.


I have my own thoughts about this as in I was challenged, but I didn't do it nor did I challenge anybody else.

Uh oh! It's mid-winter here!! Add to that I am a total wuss about cold water, hate getting my hair wet, and have a gross cold at the moment!! But I'm also always up for a challenge and this would definitely be that!

I maaaay just end up doing the $$ donation part, but we will see, we will see! Maybe I'll pop a few extra cold and flu tabs and it'll all seem like a much better idea!

I've read that ALS raised $3 million extra funds through this challenge. If they subtracted the value of all the cell phones that gave their lives for this stunt, where would they really be?
