therealljidolI totally missed this, and I shouldn't have.
But yesterday was the anniversary of something important. On August 18th, 1920 women in the United States were granted the right to vote!
The main reason why this is important is that it set the stage for women to be able to vote in LJ Idol polls! One of them is coming up tonight!
But before that happens, the women (and men) need to get in gear and make sure to have their entries posted: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/770282.html (you have until 8pm EDT TONIGHT!)

So stop dumping buckets of ice water on yourself and make sure to have your entries in! If you already have done so - start bugging your favorites!

I can't blame Apprentice for being a nervous wreck, btw. I was too when I was in her shoes. However, I'd like to think that I'm a bit more approachable in spite of the boot camp thing compared to those who taught me :erk:
Gotta get ready to take Max to the vet. Poor puppy has some kind of nondraining ear infection or has a bug in there or something's taken root. If you touch him right behind the ear he gives this eerie yelp then wants to hide because...you hurt him :(

Date: 2014-08-19 10:01 pm (UTC)Whew! Got my entry up! Router was fruiting out here and I was afraid I was going to have to drive somewhere or retype my entry on my phone. It's been that kind of week already.
First week of school, ever, for my Kindergardener daughters. Everyone's getting up waaaaaaaay earlier than we used to have to. They're enjoying it, though. I'm just wiped out and work has not slowed down for the start of the school year.
Man, that was a deep Green Room over the weekend. I wanted to comment, but wasn't sure how to unpack my own stuff adequately to do it justice. I'll just say, "Man, I am really glad that a lot of you, including Gary, are amazing fighters," here.

2. I had an idea for an entry the night the topic went up.
3. I actually wrote an entry based on my first idea.
4. It was fiction.
5. I posted with hours to spare before the deadline.
6. I am happy with my entry.
This week ALL of them happened at once. Everybody buy a lottery ticket.
