Another super quick Green Room because work beckons.

Monday... we meet again.  After getting nearly 19 hours of sleep between Friday and Saturday night, I've dropped back down to my usual 6.  Wheee.  Which one of you hid the Pepsi??

It was me. In a covert op, I swapped it out so it comes out of the Diet Pepsi dispenser now. My bad.

Shenanigans! That is why I stick to the coffee or tea. However, yesterday I noticed someone spiked the unsweetened tea with sugar. *eyes you carefully*

I may have lived in North Carolina for the past ten years, but sweet tea is one thing I will never be able to get used to.

That one wasn't me. Sweetened iced tea is a crime against humanity.

Can you do fruity flavored ice teas? I ordered the unsweetened tea somewhere and they had a raspberry tea for that. It had no sugar, but I still wasn't able to drink it. I can do spiced teas in anything except fruit flavors.

On occasion. But then, I'm more likely to be drinking black coffee, anyway.

I'm a Tarheel born and a Tarheel bred, and when I die I'll be a Tarheel dead.

And sweet tea is my favorite drink. The sweeter the better. :)

I've been on trips to places that don't even have sweet tea!!!! Or even iced tea!!! I feel sorry for people who have to live there.

I live in a state where the "sweet" tea is not REAL sweet tea. North Carolina has spoiled me so.

To satisfy my sweet tea cravings, there is a company (I forget which one, which is sad, as I have a bottle of it in my car, rofl) that makes natural, extra sweet iced tea. It is the closest thing I can find to real Southern sweet tea. It is delicious.

*hugs you A LOT* Yay for sweet tea!

I don't plan on ever moving out of my state, so I'm good. :)

I'm from NY, where "iced tea" comes unsweetened, and you add in whatever sweetener you want. Here in Kentucky, you have to specify if you want "sweet or unsweet" when you order iced tea.

I love sweet tea, but as a diabetic I can't have all that sugar, so I have to order unsweet and add my usual Equals to it. BUT, MiO (liquid water enhancer) makes a *delicious* Sweet Tea flavor, and OMG if you want regular water to taste like actual Sweet Tea without actual sugar, this is the way to go!

I'm not trying to live to be 130 years old. I use what a) makes things taste good, and b) what doesn't raise my blood sugar. I like Equal. I'll use Splenda, but I don't like Sweet 'n Low at all, it's my sweetener of last resort.

I understand! Took me a loooong time to get off diet coke. [30+ yrs.] Had a serious habit. Then my hubby got Multiple Sclerosis. So, we do as few additives as possible. I water down real fruit juice and add a shot of lemon and apple cider vinegar. It tastes good and is good for you. :-)

*hugs* Being diabetic of course makes it understandable. And yeah, it's the same in NC. Sweet tea is the default here.

Good morning everyone. I used my new charcoal grill last night to grill up some really yummy pork chops. It is sad that I can't even remember the last time I grilled with charcoal. My garden yielded a few lovely zucchini which were diced into a pan with a can of diced tomatoes and some cumin. Dinner was delicious. I would have used the tomatoes from my garden that are finally ripening, but I do believe a bunny has been having fun in that box. There is good chunk out of each one.

From: [identity profile] anyonesghost.livejournal.com
Did you grill the zucchini, too? Occasionally, I'll cut them into lengthwise steaks and throw them on the grill for a couple minutes per side. (We have a gas grill, though ... I never quite muster the energy to work with charcoal.)

The bunny in our garden doesn't worry me too much -- I put up wire mesh cages around most of the plants early on. (And the neighborhood cats tend to chase it away ... which is funny to watch, because both the bunny and the cats are sort of portly.) I think there's a groundhog in my neighborhood, though, and that concerns me.

Not this time, though I love grilling it. I needed to cook it faster. I'll cut mine in spears and toss it with a little oil and spice or marinate in Italian dressing before grilling.

I've developed a weird issue with turning on the gas grill since the house fire 6 years ago. The fire was a lightning strike. I don't know why. I make my husband turn it on. I have both now, but my gas grill is getting old and is out of gas.

That sounds so good! We're back home, where our postage-stamp lawn doesn't allow for something so frivolous as a grill.

I haven't grilled in over a year. Our gas one was out of gas and I never refilled it. This new simple charcoal one was my birthday present. I forgot how nice it was to just pop things on the grill and not heat the kitchen up too much.

Yep its Monday but I got a dog on my bed so its okay.
My PC is acting all fragged so while I got photos is my spawn +1 in the Romney costumes I made them I can't get them from my camera to my PC and I can't even get my programs/activities bar to show up on my screen.
May have to switch HD and try to fix the main drive from there. Gah.
I no like doing this stuff.

I am not looking forward to getting back to my evening transcription work. I slept over 7 hours a night each night of vacation and exercised every day! Wish I could live like that all the time.

And now it's off to the gym and grocery store, and then an afternoon filled with considering Otakon press requests.

So the schedule for this week at the restaurant went up last night.

I'm at the restaurant every day until Friday, and then I work the weekend, too. My last day off was this past Thursday.

Pray for me, y'all. Pray for my feet, which are about ready to go on strike.

My hubby sometimes has schedules like that, where he will work 8-10 days in a row before getting his weekend. However, since he makes the schedules, it's his own damn fault!

Wear comfy shoes! If your feet go on strike, you may soon find yourself two feet shorter...

From: [identity profile] banyangirl1832.livejournal.com
Two feet shorter. That made me laugh. And perfect icon, as always.

It's not that my shoes aren't comfy, it's that I'm working on polished concrete floors for 8-10 hours a day. No matter how comfy your shoes are, that's like the worst floor surface for your feet ever.

Oh yes - polished concrete has got to be awful to stand on for so long! What is is that you do?

I'm sorry - I accidentally bought Caffeine Free Pepsi, my bad!

I didn't get enough sleep last night, between working on my entry (not much done yet, but at least I've got a start) and playing games on my laptop. I have a focus group to go to after work for about 2-1/2 hours or so, but at least I get paid $90 for it - that'll keep me in Starbucks for the next month or so...

My weekend was quiet even with the kids running around. This week has the kid#2 at her last week of summer school and two OT appts. I also need to work on the endless laundry.

I stole no Pepsi, though I seem to need endless caffeine today. So not awake!

I didn't get much Idoling done this weekend, but I did some reorganizing and purging, which it feels like I haven't done in ages. So good to get rid of stuff!

Everything else? Behind, behind, behind...

Kidding aside, I have a new kitten! He's a cutie.
