A late and quick Green Room today.  Someone got almost 10 hours of NyQuil induced sleep.  I don't want to name names though...

Humidity in Wisconsin kicks back in today.  I'm going to miss my summer Polar Vortex from last week.

I didn't hear any news overnight about the city of Columbus imploding.  They must not have realized [livejournal.com profile] clauderainsrm is there yet.

Is anyone else suffering from the heat right now?

Can't eat, can't sleep, it is driving me crazy.

No A/C? I hate being too hot, sweat is just UGH.

I have no A/C and for a while I had to keep all of my windows shut because THAT was my idiot landlord's solution for the fly infestation that is plaguing our building. It was like living in a sauna. I finally told him, maybe you should just get screens for our windows that actually fit without gaps.

Screens are good. Landlords... not so much.

I can't even communicate with him!

It's raining here, which brings temps down some but also makes it a bit muggy outside between showers. Thankfully there's not been a lot of between -- it's just been slowly drizzling all day.

Have you tried a cold pack? When our AC went out the last time, I slept with reusable cold packs from the dollar store wrapped in a washcloth or small towel. They refreeze during the day as long as you remember to put them back in when you get up.

Second again? It's been hot here but not unbearable. We had some rain the other day so that helped some. Still researching items for my entry, because that's what I do, but it's always fun and I learn things too!

As far as Columbus... Give Gary time, he's stealthy and probably still doing reconnaissance!

So... I have a maybe-idea for my Idol post. I can't tell if it's going to come out dumb or not. But I guess ideas are good?

I'm working on something too. It was the hubby's idea (he's good with ideas) and so far all I've done is hand-write out about six pages of notes, via stuff I've looked up on Wiki. It's easier for me to have the hardcopy notes, so I can take them with me more easily to work, etc, and write wherever or whenever the urge strikes.

Which of course is usually between 1:00-3:00 AM, but there ya go.

I have handwritten about three pages of notes and random bits of story, and some more bits are forming in my head... but I'm not sure yet if I'm committed to this idea or not.

It's hot here too, and since no one has A/C and the buildings aren't made for heat because we get a few heatwaves a year at most (well used to), it's annoying.

We're supposedly jumping into the mid-high 90s here by midweek. OH MY ELECTRIC BILL :p

It's not so much the heat here as it is the humidity, which can be quite stifling at times, even if the ambient temperature is in the 60s. This is the downside to living near a large body of water :/

I'm going to guess Columbus has seen an increase of reports of some random guy yelling "Damn hippie foreigner!" at people, though... ;)

It's the kicking of the hippies that will get him in trouble, tho!

It's a college town, so there are tons of people who need to be kicked.

Our first day there, we saw a protest downtown. It was actually pretty awesome.

My friend saw the Oscar Meyer weinermobile in C'bus...but no other reports of craziness.

I think I'll be happy just so long as we don't get any more tornadoes. The Mid-Atlantic region isn't used to that sort of thing. So far, though, all the home improvements we've installed have fought off the heat admirably. I haven't even had to lug the window A/C unit down from the attic. For which my back has thanked me profusely.
