therealljidolI was looking up responses to Darlena's viral hit article (because damnit, it's awesome to see people you know do well. I'm fortunate enough that I've seen this happen with a few people lately - this is just the one that most Idol people would know!) and so typed "Mercedes Food Stamps" into the search engine, figuring that would be a good way of seeing who else was talking about it.
My finger slipped and I wrote "Mercedes Food Stamos".
Damn you John Stamos!!!
Fortunately, no one was discussing him and Mercedes. :)

5. Being No Thyroid means that I can't tell if I'm overheating myself. Like, we came home from the walk, I was drenched in sweat because it's hot/humid out there so I intellectually knew I was hot, but I couldn't really feel it.

(Being able to use the experience to help you *get whatever you want out of it* is a "good Idol experience. This one just has a lot of exposure to it! :D)
3. It would be better if it WERE HER MAX. There would be a lot of explaining to do!!
5. I hadn't thought about that aspect. My Father just had his removed, and given that Mother also has problems that are pretty far along - and I'm taking thyroid medication, I wonder if that s the path I am looking at as well.

5. Nobody realizes how large a role thyroids play in our systems until they don't have one. I certainly didn't. Their biggest job is regulating metabolism, and given that metabolisms can be finicky for all sorts of reasons outside of thyroid-being-wonky...add wonky thyroid to the mix and everything can easily go to hell in a nanosecond :erk: That's one of the reasons why people sometimes complain they're becoming BFF's with their endocrinologist: If your fake thyroid levels go wonky, it throws off EVERYTHING else :p

Date: 2014-07-09 02:47 pm (UTC)Hub is about to start Day 3 in Chemo-Landia. So far no side effects, but there's always an element of the unknown. His labs are good, and the Bone Marrow Biopsy was clean. All good signs. I'm still missing my JellyBeaner-weener. Sigh......

Date: 2014-07-09 04:16 pm (UTC)But it seems like once a book's undergone enough random little half-finished drafts (even after the completion of a first draft), I need one in order to determine which plotlines are getting nixed and which ones are actually important.
But! Last time I did a full outline like this, the Official First Draft was written in about 20 days during NaNoWriMo 2012.
So. Here's to hoping I can have this finished by NaNoWriMo 2014. xD So I can do another book for it...

My comment is completely unrelated to the GR above, but I just wanted to take a moment to apologize to everyone at large. I've been having a really hard time coming up with comments for all the wonderful entries people have been posting.
And in the past, I've been told that my writing is funny, and that's what people like about it. Unfortunately, this season, I don't feel I've been very light. I'm kinda in a dark place, and I think my writing is reflecting that. I have, on occasion, come up with a funny piece, but more often than not, funny hasn't been working for me. Anyway, that's all I had to say. I'll try to be better about commenting...
