The dreaded Week 13 certainly ended up living up to it’s name, taking out a few of my personal favorites in it’s rage of bye-outs.
OK, so there weren’t that many. But every single name on the list is someone that I had figured on seeing for quite a bit longer. (Including one of my favorite bloggers/podcasters!!)

Thank you to all of you for coming out - and I really hope to see you continue to Home Game, and take advantage of the chance to get back into the mix when Second Chance comes around! Maybe the ending of your Idol-story still hasn’t been cemented!
As for the rest of you - you are the ones trying to avoid gaining some cement shoes of your own!
Especially with the return of the Redemption Tribe (featuring the people who would have been eliminated last week) and the BOTTOM TWO of each tribe are going home this week!
Oh, and yes, it’s a COMMUNITY ONLY poll!
So no -not a Gatekeeper round. Not a Contestant Only round either. Both of those guesses were wrong.
But it should still make for some interesting results!

Date: 2014-07-01 01:19 am (UTC)After the voting is over we hear who the Gatekeepers were. Sometimes they give notes/feedback/thought processes. Gatekeeper rounds probably wouldn't happen until the numbers dip closer to/below 50.

Date: 2014-07-01 02:13 am (UTC)Only people who have "friended" the community can vote. If you haven't done that yet, there should be a link in the header at the top of the page (depending on your layout, I guess) or if you go to Idol's profile page, at the top of that page.
And how does a newbie ask for readers and constructive criticism?
You can ask for feedback at the bottom of your entry, or put up a comment thread specifically for feedback, or you can ask in the Green Room or Work room, or individually message someone who has given you feedback before.
To ask for readers, you can put up an entry on your own LJ, asking your friends (if you have them, and didn't just make your LJ for the contest) to consider joining the community and reading the entries and voting for you.
Mostly, since it's community only, and that's the "regulars," people are probably going to read your entry just because you're in the poll. Granted, that's not a given, considering time restraints. Some people, when pressed for time, will read people who have commented on their entries, so another good thing to do is to read everyone else, give feeedback to the ones who ask for it, and leave comments so people will get to know you and go looking for your entries.

The two lowest vote-getters in each poll, so six people, will be eliminated. Note that's not the lowest votes overall, someone who is the bottom of one poll might have more votes than someone who is safe in another poll, because the polls aren't compared to each other.
No problem with the questions. Better to ask than wonder. :)
