How are your favorites faring so far?

Who isn't getting the love you feel they should be receiving, what is it about this particular piece that you really like/why should more people be checking it out?

From what I can see, it's working out to be a really close vote in all of the tribes so far! Which should make out to be an interesting finish! But more importantly, that's the time when you should be making sure to tell people to read those entries that you care about!

A few extra eyes on them could very well equal a few extra votes!

I've only finished reading my Tribe 1 and Redemption (I've read others sporadically as they got posted, but haven't finished the other two tribes yet), but I'm surprised that gratefuladdict and blergeatkitty aren't doing better in the polls - I really enjoyed both entries for different reasons.

I'm looking forward to the finale of Survivor. I have no particular preferences as to whom I want to win, I just love the surprises and the evil challenges!

Also, my husband was ready to throttle me last night - I kept spewing bad puns at him all evening, LOL. My favorite was when the weatherman said we were in for "chilly showers" tomorrow, and I piped up that "I'll bring the cheddar cheese!" (you know... chili showers...)

I don't watch TV (although we have taken up a habit of watching things through Netflix on Saturday night, like The Walking Dead and Orange is the New Black), so I don't know anything about American Idol or Survivor.

I am trying to decide if I should join in if/when Second Chance Idol comes up.

Also also I am learning about my heritage, in an attempt to understand how people get socialized into beliefs and things. And also discovering a lot of prejudice against Appalachians that I hadn't been exposed to before. Ouch.

Contemplating what I want for lunch - I think I want pizza, and there's a pizza place within walking distance that does gluten free pies, so now I'm just trying to figure out what I want on it. Broccoli, garlic and extra cheese... yum.

Also, swirlsofblue's entry blew my mind. Pun definitely intended! And recklessblues always needs more love than he gets, imho.

American Idol and Survivor aren't my thing, but finales are so much fun. Where by awesome I sometimes mean soul-destroying, but still! I'm still recovering from Arrow and Agents of SHIELD.

I am behind on all the TV. The only thing I've been keeping up with week to week is Hannibal because I refuse to be spoiled for it which means my options are watch the show or avoid the internet entirely.

I've got a few more entries to read (pages 5 & 6 in the topic post) before I vote.

I haven't spent as much time as I'd like in the Killing Floor posts, I love the idea though.

I think I must be the only person ever who doesn't consistently watch TV. I mean if I catch an episode here or there of something I'm glad. I've been spending all my time this past week reading horribly phrased emails and resumes trying to hire a new babysitter so I don't have to quit my job. I am so grateful for idol this week because at least people know how to spell and capitalize around here.

We don't have TV. I mean, we have a television ($$$$ entertainment system) but selectively stream.

When I see TV at someone else's house I sit astounded that viewers seem oblivious to the ageism of pharmaceutical demonology and the insistence that men's bodies just stop....uh, working....WTF, TV???

Not sure why I digressed there. When I think of TV that's what I think of.

For anyone who does watch Survivor, Team Spencer all the way! Although I think it's probably more realistic that it's Tony and while I'm not thrilled with that, I am okay with it, because he's played a good game.

Ughh. More people should watch Survivor. I <3 it.

I've managed to get both Cynthia *and* Celena hooked. (Cynthia has actually been asking me for "older seasons". She finishes one and asks for another a few days later! We just finished Africa last night!)

I'm Team Everybody. Because I would feel like this was a great season regardless of who ended up winning. My least favorite would probably be Tony, just because everything seems to have gone his way for so long. I think a Spencer win would be cool - a Kass win would be pretty awesome and a Woo win would be surprising, but fun. (and the edit is there for any four of those outcomes!)

Mostly I'm just happy that it's a FINAL TWO again!!

I've just finished moving house (which was why I had to take a bye this week) - so now I'm living with my mum for the next few months. We'll see how it goes.

As for TV, I've just discovered Game of Thrones. My brother got me the first book and the first 2 series on DVD for Christmas, so I'm working my way through series 1 at the moment. And I am loving it.

sinnamongirl - great job with voice and structure!

sestinaqueen - poetry so seldom works, and this one works like gangbusters. The form serves the topic and vice-versa. (Sentences rarely ever heard, "wasn't that a great sestina?")

beeker121 - I know she's been working on structure, and she rocks it this week.

And the one-two emotional whiplash pair of boyfrond and kittenboo, living lives of quiet desperation. A little Prufrock, a little Cheryl Strayed.

I am trying to at least read my tribe and tribe redemption, this week. Considering I have way more free time tomorrow where I am not at work/not with a child, though, I shooooould be able to read all the entries. Should. I hope I can, anyway.

I am also trying to leave comments, and hold myself to my personal writing goals this month, and actually have a day where someone doesn't yell at me for "codes" at work. ;) So far I'm accomplishing the writing goals but not so much the commenting or the codes...

I spent the first weeks reading every.single.entry for this, which left me no time for comments, and it took awhile before I realized people didn't expect me to read every.single.entry. Total relief, though I still try to read as much as I possibly can. I get real excited the weeks there are a lot of byes though!

I'm still recovering from travel. Work itself piled up while I was away for ... well, work. The lawn went from 0 to Safari while I was away. I need to do effectively an entire closet of laundry. I did finally catch the season finales of Once Upon a Time and Agents of SHIELD, but I need to binge watch Orphan Black and RuPaul's Drag Race.

Of course, I also had my first experience watching Eurovision while abroad. (On the Italian language TV network, FWIW.) I'm not sure any American Reality TV show quite compares to that.

Extended weekend coming up, so I hope I can get lawn and laundry and laundry list of writing objectives all set before I mix a Manhattan for Memorial Day.

I think TV culture is very different in the States to NZ. We've sat down to watch actual TV *once* in the last... three years? And by the second ad break in 10 minutes we groaned and turned it off.

We are, ahem, up-to-date on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Not sure if that is even screening in NZ yet.

I can't stand watching TV either. I'll put on movies here and there, and I don't mind streaming or watching things on DVD, but I'm sick to death of endless commercials/adverts, and I never have a consistent enough schedule to keep up with most serials.

I'm loving some of what I'm seeing. Still having a hard time commenting. The meme about talking on the phone with someone who has kids comes to mind. I get to read in short choppy bits before someone has fallen down, gotten hit or bit, or there's a tragedy about a toy train (yesterday one nearly got lost down the drain *facepalm*).

I am bone weary. Took my little ladies to the pool after work today and it took it out of me. But tomorrow I have climbing partners, so. . . this is going to be a good week.

My godson is being bullied and no one at his University is doing shit about it. One of these assholes peed on his clothing while he was trying to check out of his dorm room... and the university refused to listen to his complaint, much less investigate the matter.

I've ruined my best pair of pants, and none of the local clothing stores carry my size -- I definitely fall into the "big and tall" category, but my local "big and tall" store is closed for renovations. I tried buying pants via mail-order, but *NONE* of the damned things I ordered fit right -- what they're calling a 42-inch waistline is a 38-inch waist at most.

I'm supposed to be leaving on a trip with my godson this coming Saturday morning... but there are serious problems with the trip itinerary. Never mind the fact that I really need to get new clothes first, but even if I had the time to go shopping (WHICH I *DON'T*!), THERE IS *NO* GHOD-DAMMED PLACE FOR ME TO *SHOP*!!! None of the "Big And Tall" Men's stores that are still open in my area are anywhere near public transportation...

Oh, and one of my female friends is getting sexually harassed at an "off-the-books" job she can't afford to quit... and because it's "off-the-books" there is no official way she can file a complaint. Plus the son of a bitch who's doing the harassing is a slimy lawyer who could make her life miserable if she tries to sue.

In the last 72 hours it seems like *EVERYONE* I care about has been having serious problems that I can't help them with, other than to lend a sympathetic ear... and right now I feel I can't even do that right, because I CAN'T EVEN GET CLOTHES THAT FIT ME!!!

Excuse me while scream at the walls before having a complete nervous breakdown...

I've really appreciated the comments on my entry this week. I just went back and responded to everyone. Feeling kind of bad that it took me this long to do it, but I had a conference this week and didn't have direct access to my computer.
