Green Room - Week 3 - Day 1

I'm proud to announce that the Damn Foreigner Extrication from the Oppression of Not Being 'Merican group is holding meetings to discuss racial sensitivity and diversity training of whatever it is that those hippies care about. They will be holding their first fundraiser this weekend, racing through Central Park in their froufrou skirts, designed to make them run faster.

Nothing but good things will come of this.

The DFEONB' is an equal opportunity group who believes that all people are equal, and should be treated accordingly.

They also believe that Damn Foreigners are not really people, and all look alike to us. It's just a bunch of blurry vaguely human-like shapes, who are busy trying to get over the walls we have built, to come steal our jobs.

Fortunately, people like the DFEONB' are vigilantly patrolling our borders and tweeting about the things that matter most. (mostly cat pictures and Dan Snyder instagram retweets)

I am awake at my regular weekday time (5:30) hoping the coffee kicks all the way in before I drive to the train. This is the first time in a while the GR has been up for me to play in while I'm in am mode.

Mostly today I'm hoping yesterday's grumpy co-worker is less grumpy today; my office is essentially one large room and when someone is giving off waves of discontent it affects everyone.

I'm up earlyish for me, but I had all manner of bad dreams last night and was awoken around 5:30 this morning with lady-bits cramps, and had to root around the back of the medicine cabinet to find the ibuprofen. Luckily I have a morning follow up appointment with my eye doctor, and I can stop for coffee on the way, and I have lots of time to poke the topic around this afternoon between the appointment and work, which are conveniently about a twenty minute walk away from each other. There's a fantastic library between the two where I can hang out in a comfy chair and write to my heart's content, so I'm pretty pumped.

Well, I just had a giant maple-frosted doughnut (it's the last Friday of the month at work, which means free concentrated balls of grease and sugar in the back room) and a half-finished cafe mocha from Starbucks in front of me, so I should be vibrating in about 15 minutes. Too bad I have to work instead of being able to dick around with thinking about this topic - sugar could be put to better use here!

I don't know if my body chemistry is all effed up right now, but somehow chugging a mountain dew before bed helped me fall asleep and p.much stay asleep all night. Haven't done that in a LONG time. I didn't even realize when my son crawled into my bed.

Skipped class again (so sick) and going in to work early so I can get out of work early. I hate being sick.

Good morning green room. I spent last night serving and dancing at a "bright and tight" party (everything neon and black light reactive). And now I'm on my way back to work to asses the damage and open the bar where I'll be for the rest of the day annoyingly texting and reading GR comments on my phone instead of ya know actually "working" because there is never enough tea/coffee/redbull for close to open shifts.

I love the IDEA of the topic, but not the thought of reading 200+ entries where a bent toward fantasy (hey, castles, ya know?) will probably make many of them loooong.

How about a major stretch into a non-fiction entry on the lost cliff-cities of the Anasazi people? They were in the Four Corners area, which isn't too far from where you grew up. Isn't that totally the last thing you would ever have thought about writing? ;)

I did some brainstorming on the topic last night, including some web research into possible areas, and got hit with some completely different idea this morning. So, at least I have backup ideas? Though I've taken two stabs at the topic the prior two weeks, and it gets kind of old!

The weekend is coming, thank goodness. Work wears me down, especially now that I can't telecommute anymore, though at least our focus has turned to something I like a lot better than what we were doing last year.

We seem to be heading into a rainy stretch this coming week (again), to make up for a dry December/January/February. Kind of wish I'd realized there were so many unraked leaves in the yard a couple of months ago. Now they just get soggier and more embedded into the mud each week.
