It’s that time again.

The time where I make the worst post of the week and send people home from the competition.

This being the first one of the season, it’s always a crapshoot on “Who will it be?”

Even under the best of circumstances, it still sucks.

Tonight we say goodbye to one of our more controversial figures of the season and the two youngest contestants, we also say goodbye to someone who is one of my personal favorite contestants of all time.

A sacrifice usually happens when somebody decides they want to quit after the poll is posted. Sometimes this happens to help a specific contestant out (one contestant once sacrificed in the Top 5, I think, in order to save his fiancee from elimination). More often it happens because someone reached a decision that they wanted to quit for personal reasons but waited until after the poll was posted to notify Gary. In that case, they are considered to be the person eliminated from that poll.

kfp_rawr will continue playing the home game. Fortunately, I haven't emphasized the competition aspect to him, so he's not going to be upset about being cut. He was very happy to hear about the positive results his entries got and delighted to know that he'd made some people laugh.

I want to give a shout out to qween394 and her amazing parents, cheshire23 and ravenshrinkery, who are encouraging her creativity. Keep writing!

Surprised the youngins are leaving so soon this time around, tough crowd this season! Glad to hear they'll both likely home game, it's all the fun with none of the stress :D

KFP will be fine. I wasn't emphasizing the competition aspect. Actually, I think it will be better, though, not to have the deadline. That way I can work with him on his home game entry whenever he really is in the mood to be creative, without worrying about whether it's on time.

Ok, this broke my heart a little, but I couldn't make it home in time to vote on everything (with my handy dandy spreadsheet) so I was trying to get it in quickly while I was at work, which didn't go so well lol.

Sorry to see the younger ones go .... But a lot has to be said for their endeavor and their passion for words. Its a love that needs to be nurtured and if they do that they definitely have greater fields open to them in future. All the best ... And the positivity is their continuance in the home game .... Well, I made it through week 1 and I really didn't expect to, this being my first time here.
Commiserations to those who didn't, especially the younger ones. It's good to see they're taking it on the chin - bodes well for their futures in writing or wherever life takes them
Every week from now on is a bonus in my book
