I had to do it. I had no choice. But I've been a cheerleader for Idol from the beginning, and participated here and there, so I can't do any less. Besides, my writing chops need to be sharpened a bit, since I'm not really blogging anymore.

In some ways, it couldn't be a better time. I'm finally getting on top of things in my life, my boys are old enough (heck, Teddy was only 5 months old when Gary started this, which is probably why I didn't participate the first season...), and I've been finding myself wanting to do more than play Facebook games all day. (Who cares if I currently have 60 books out of the library? I can read AND write!)

Good morning. I've been up and about chasing the 2 year old, knitting socks, drinking tea, and signing up for LJ Idol.

I'm excited to see so many old faces coming back. And to see some new ones, too. Also that I had so many new posts on my friends list feed this morning (even if they were almost all declarations of intent).

So, folks, what's your favorite tea? (Be as specific as you want. I like nerding out about tea).

My favourite tea is the tea that is appropriate for the occasion. That is to say, I like a lot of different tea.

First, there is what we in the UK would call "Builder's Tea" - this is regular tea, of which Yorkshire Gold is the only correct brand. This is the tea I drink when I am hungover, or when I want caffeine without wanting coffee.
Then there is Earl Grey, which is what I like to drink in the afternoon when I'm feeling a bit blah.
Chai Tea is the tea I drink when I'm craving something sweet before bed.
Peppermint tea is for after-a-big-meal.
Peppermint, Ginko & Nettle Tea is one of my favourites, and is 99p from Waitrose. It is for when I need a pick-me-up too late in the day for caffeine.
Iced tea is a weird Americanism that tastes nice on a hot summers day, but it not really tea.
