Week 1 Green Room - Day 3

Good morning.

As I was reading through the topic 1 posts last night before going home something occurred to me. I had held my tongue a bit in the Topic 0 posts just because, well, anyone could make a lucky shot. But now that I've seen two posts from most of you it's got to be said - this is going to be a TOUGH season.

Not that there haven't been a LOT of really, really talented people in past seasons. My god there have been! But reading the entries, I literally have no idea who is going to win. My "favorites" list is a good 75-80% of what I've read so far. It's going to be interesting to see how this thing shakes out.

Overslept...should be getting out to door in about 15 minutes but yet I am sitting in here in the pj's checking out LJ.

go to work...attempt to get work down
maybe toss a little homework in there during the day

hit the gym over lunch
go home...and should do homework but I have a few errands to run

I was finally going to deep-clean a few rooms today, but I can't have SO around while I'm doing it. He'll drive me nuts :/

I just wish I didn't feel so congested and weary. There are so many things I'd like to do -- starting Xmas xhopping, for example -- but every time I think about it I just get more weary *shrug*

I have to agree with Gary about the quality of writing this round. As of my last check, I have read 91 entries, and will vote for a minimum of 64.

There are a lot that I liked, but I had to do some winnowing somehow. Right now 64 represents all those entries that are "way above average."

I am seriously impressed with all of them!

I have some mommying to do during the day - lunchtimes/naptimes/storytimes/playtimes etc, then when my husband comes home I get to go running for the first time since last week. I need the exercise - and the alone time - for sure!

I'm making a spinach quiche and cheesy potato soup for dinner and tonight, oh tonight, I have a mountain RANGE of laundry to dominate.

I am great about washing clothes, but then I let the clean stuff hang out in my laundry room till it's are a five foot tall pile of wrinkled mess again. I'm so bad!

There's no way I'm going to get caught up on LJ Idol tonight. As much as I'd like to, there's just too much on my plate. I'm grateful that (at the very least) I've gotten my entry out.

My day is going to be:

• Being Mommy


• Packing for our trip to NJ tomorrow


• Finishing laundry


• Working


• Really not looking forward to being up at 4 am tomorrow

For all that I've gotten a lot of comments and compliments on mine, I've got this overwhelming fear that I'm not going to make the cut from the very beginning.

I just took a Government midterm. One question. Three hours. Thank whatever exists up there that the prof let us type our essays; otherwise, between my write-only handwriting and my naggy inner editor, I'd be screwed.

Plus, he gave us eclairs. You can't go wrong with pastry.

The house is almost ready for a huge open-house surprise party for Critter on Friday.

Today I'm going to run laundry in the background; in the foreground, I'll be cleaning the kitchen, washing the dishes, then sorting/opening mail, and finally "Paperwork." I've still presents to wrap and two final gifts to buy, plus one errand to run. Paperwork will likely involve reorganizing a bunch of "put it in my crate" stuff to sort out and tag for later action.

The HVAC guy should be showing up at some point today; we have a boiler/forced air system with one central boiler piping water to four zoned air handlers. The boiler is old and finicky to start up; I'm not sure if we ever got around to replacing the motor on the fan for the kitchen air handler; and our crawl-space is nasty, occasionally playing host to dead possums and the like. Thus, we pay the professionals to see to it. And, bonus, they bill us, and offer payments when the amount is high. The old motor has a sticky relay; the summer work-around was "set the system to ON instead of AUTO" which kept the fan running whether the compressor was on or not. Now that we're heating, we don't want to blow "falling back to 50°F cave temp." air into the rooms when the air-exchange valve gets shut by the thermostat. Ooh, the technical stuff one learns even as a pay-other-people homeowner.

Heat tonight. Yay!!

I just got to my first job. Will be here from 9-4. Then going to my other job from 4:30-11pm. So a 14 hour work day. Plus it SNOWED this morning here in PA. Like half-inch laying on the ground wet snowball-packing snow.

woohoo...another day and farther behind in reading entries. At least I have a couple hours before work and then I'm off tomorrow. I feel so guilty.
