Today is the last day of Exhibit B, which means that it’s also the last Green Room and the final piece of the fun of Idol: 2013!

I hope you had a good time.

The finale is going on until this evening, and it’s been as close as you can get for pretty much the entire time: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/699150.html

If you want to go share the love, there is a “Love Thread” going on over at http://michikatinski.livejournal.com/335312.html

There is also an Idoler who needs a hand keeping her awesome store open! So if you have the means, and want to help – or even if you just want to spread the word - http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/my-bookstore-needs-your-help

Final First!

You *do* know that I WAS JOKING ABOUT ENDING THE SEASON ON A CLIFFHANGER, right? ;)

Seriously, that poll could currently not get any closer!!

Congrats on the last first! (There's a poem in there somewhere).

Ending on a cliffhanger would, uh, be continuing a fine tradition of television season endings? (Every time I check the poll we're tied. And then more tied. And then tied again. Which is why I am no longer checking the poll and am instead just having a great day and doing stuff that needs doing)

Where's that Michael Jackson eating popcorn gif when you need it?

Yep, I had a good time. :)

Today I am going to do my very best to resist refreshing the poll like crazy (heh) and instead will be running errands and getting groceries and stuff, like an adult. Or at the very least, like a lady whose hair is in pigtails and who's inclined to skip a lot.

Definitely had a good time ♥

Now the real question is: what the hell am I gonna do to keep myself busy until January? Actually go be useful and productive?? The thought is terrifying :p

Just for shits and giggles, and because there are currently only 3 comments, which leads me to believe a spam thread is in order... a couple of Q's for everyone: What was your favorite post this season, both of yours, and of someone else's? (Or if you weren't playing this season and therefore didn't gave any posts of your own, then fave post as a spectator?)

Second question: what's your opinion on people who post nothing but fiction, hardly if ever participate in the GR, and then complain they feel left out and don't really know anyone in Idol? Er. I mean. Yay, love thread!

Didn't we answer these already when we did that AAA thing?

My fav post of mine was All is Not Found. (I wonder if that's the same answer I gave before)

My fav post of [livejournal.com profile] lrig_rorrim was her Grand Bazaar. Fav of [livejournal.com profile] the_lettersea was Cards on the Table.

My fav of yours was That's What She Said.

I thought we did a "reply to certain people and name a post that was very much them" and a "which post represents you best" but not overall faves. Imho these are way different questions. Or maybe this already did get asked, and I totally missed it because it got buried in the comment avalanche.

Actually, now that I think about it, it was "Who is your favorite character?"

My favorite post of Exhibit A: Titanic Historical Fiction Piece yassss (http://theun4givables.livejournal.com/106767.html)

My favorite post of Exhibit B: Estranged lovers and piano music, and all is right with the world (http://m1ss1ngcupcake.livejournal.com/3837.html).

Favorite Exhibit B post by others? God, this one's hard. Hm. I'll have to go with [livejournal.com profile] streetnights' entrey for I think I'll never see. (http://streetnights.livejournal.com/5888.html) It hit me in all the right places in all the right ways, considering what was going on in my life at that time.

I... have got a lot of other people favorites. Because I'm an indecisive person like that. I'll make an epic comment of total craziness mentioning tons of people from my super sekrit spreadsheet of doom when I get home later. But your "that's what she said" poem is TOTALLY on there. I think that's the only entry I've ever read out loud to bunches of people, and the reactions were awesome.

*cracks knuckles* This might get long, y'all. You have been warned. ;)

Stuff I loved from Exhibit B (a not at ALL exhaustive list):
* [livejournal.com profile] fourzoas entry for week 3 blew me out of the water. I'd link to it, but it is, alas, locked up tight now. My notes for that week say "Way to take on controversy and just go for its throat." and "I love her voice and style."
* [livejournal.com profile] meepalicious's entry (http://meepalicious.livejournal.com/1647276.html) for week 5 about learning Japanese and her father's death was really, really good and stuck in my head for a long time.
* [livejournal.com profile] thegrimms's version of Rumplestiltskin (http://thegrimms.livejournal.com/3264.html) was amazingly inventive and well-told. Love love loved it.
* This entry (http://recklessblues.livejournal.com/208790.html) by [livejournal.com profile] recklessblues blew my socks off. I still don't know where they are.
* This story (http://streetnights.livejournal.com/6367.html) by [livejournal.com profile] streetnights is something I still think about. Super well done.
* [livejournal.com profile] kathrynrose's All is Not Found (http://kathrynrose.livejournal.com/820272.html) entry is something I return to when I am in need of a smile.
* I still LOVE Not a F*cking People Person (http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/603136.html) by [livejournal.com profile] halfshellvenus from the intersection of evil. I <3 Zlork.
* Of all [livejournal.com profile] the_lettersea's stuff I linked to for our intersection, I am torn between this (http://the-lettersea.livejournal.com/5600.html) and this (http://the-lettersea.livejournal.com/5375.html) for favorites.
* I mentioned [livejournal.com profile] porn_this_way's poem of Poe ridiculousness, but I'll say it again: it was the best. That's what she said.

I could go on and on, honestly. There was a HELLUVA lot of good writing throughout this Exhibit. It was pretty neat. :)

As for my own stuff, I was particularly happy with this non-fiction piece (http://mythingperson.livejournal.com/2861.html), and the game (http://lrig-rorrim.livejournal.com/41287.html) (I had been wanting to do a game for sooooo long. I'm so happy I finally managed!).

And now I'll shush. Epic comment is epic. Heh.

I actually thought the Raven poem was a total throwaway at the time and figured it might get me voted out on suspicion of summoning Beavis and Butthead to write my entry for me. I was absolutely astounded it did so well in the polls, and I'm flattered as hell it seems to have so many takers!

That is *not* the entry of mine I ever would have expected you to pick.

As for your personal favorite self-entry, it was definitely one of my favorites of yours this season - but not my favorite. "Throwaway" or no, that raven shit was tight.

LOL!! Well, I appreciate it, truly.

As for my fave post of yours, I was honestly torn between three of them and the one I linked to was one of them. The other two were the blinged out Boston Marathon bomber and accompanying rant, and actually...the post you went out on. (Not the farewell post, the one with the random facts and bits of wisdom).

(and i actually meant to say, but didn't because i'm in a broken-brain place right now, that ALL of your graphic-element entries were amazing - I would probably pick the "secrets" one just because it's one i could point a non-LJI-knowin' person to and know they would laugh. yeah, LJI as card-driven RPG thing is funny for *us*. but you know, if you actually made that game and took it to the local gaming shop on a weekend, the Magic: the Gathering people would be beating you up and giving you swirlies by afternoon.)

Hi, everyone! *waves*

I'm loving the tie between the Top Two. I mean, before I saw their entries, I had a clear favorite in mind--and then both of them blew me out of the water. And that's why the both deserve the win. And I think I'm a little bit in love with both of them. Possibly. :-D

Speaking of love, there's lots of love coming in over at Share the Love. Clicky clicky on Gary's linky (my oh my, does that sound kinky?) and offer some of your own. :)

Yes, I'm late, but this is still worth doing! Some of my favorites from Exhibit B:

[livejournal.com profile] streetnights: http://streetnights.livejournal.com/5888.html "I think I'll never see". There were a lot of entries I liked, but this one had gorgeous, haunting language and style, and it moved me.

[livejournal.com profile] lrig_rorrim: http://lrig-rorrim.livejournal.com/36885.html "The Grand Bazaar". Close second would be last week's game, but the humor and weirdness in this story are so uniquely hers.

[livejournal.com profile] oxymoron67: http://oxymoron67.livejournal.com/560107.html "It's Not Tacky If You Wear It Well". The description of those clothes alone, and how they would not die, just slayed me.

[livejournal.com profile] kathrynrose: http://kathrynrose.livejournal.com/822162.html "It's Sooper-Sekrit". Funny and incredibly original as well as expertly told.

[livejournal.com profile] acalculatedname: http://acalculatedname.livejournal.com/3313.html "When I Was Young". Like moments of my own yard-slave childhood, except worse. :O

[livejournal.com profile] michikatinski: http://michikatinski.livejournal.com/295598.html "It's Not Tacky If YOu Wear It Well". I know everyone else went with comedy for this prompt, but this was a perfect story--in form and emotion and style. All the votes.

[livejournal.com profile] porn_this_way: http://porn-this-way.livejournal.com/34898.html "Cards On The Table". Every deliciously evil facet of her creativity and humor comes out in this piece.

[livejournal.com profile] the_lettersea: http://the-lettersea.livejournal.com/5375.html "Division". I was blown away by the structure and interleaving of this story. Well-crafted AND fascinating.

[livejournal.com profile] recklessblues: http://recklessblues.livejournal.com/208790.html "Imposter" (barely beating out the Week 1 entry). Humor at the beginning, and a soulful abstraction of truth at the end.

[livejournal.com profile] thegrimms: http://thegrimms.livejournal.com/3609.html and http://thegrimms.livejournal.com/3925.html intersection of Hansel and Gretel and Rapunzel. The way these two stories were woven together was not only incredibly well-done, but they just fit. Plus, the style was fairy-tale perfect in both.

[livejournal.com profile] meepalicious: http://meepalicious.livejournal.com/1666294.html "All That Jazz". The story about her father was a close second here.

[livejournal.com profile] alycewilson: http://alycewilson.livejournal.com/539012.html "Na Wa Ooooo". This story gives me such a peaceful, happy feeling. It brings back memories of my kids' early years, and how rich living in the moment can truly be.

My favorite entry of my own: http://halfshellvenus.livejournal.com/600850.html for "Where Am I?" I have a soft spot for both Zlork and the "Give 'Em Hell" entry, but this one wins.
