Just so you know - LJ IDOL will not be including any gay couples in our advertising.

Granted, we’re not including any couples, or in fact, people, and we’re not actually doing any advertising. But I think it’s good to let people know where we stand!

We are also opposed to gay adoption!

We’re fine with same sex couples adopting kids, why wouldn’t we be? It’s just ridiculous to think that who someone loves is going to make them bad parents. Plenty of people are bad parents regardless of what is in the pants of the person they are attracted to!

We just oppose extremely happy adoptions. People should be more serious when they are going through the process. Being overly gay about it can lead to impulsive decisions!

We understand that you may disagree and if so, you are welcome to buy someone else’s spaghetti and sauce. I’ve heard good things about Barilla.

***

I’ve also heard good things about the final entries which will be going up tonight: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/698394.html

“Heard” because they aren’t there yet, so really it’s more of an “I assume good things” about them!

FIRST! Adoptions are very expensive - there is no good reason to be especially "gay" about the ridiculous costs! Domestic adoptions are easily $10k, and overseas are even more expensive, and yet there are SO MANY people having unwanted and unloved babies, but those of us who can't have our own bio-babies are just left out in the cold. *sadface*

But still, FIRST.

When I was adopted in the good old days, I think I cost $15. For the clothes I was wearing and a case of formula and a box of diapers. True story. It's in my case paperwork.

Oh, and, **CONFETTI** you're FIRST!

I was adopted back in The Good Ol' Days too (circa 1968). Since this was in New York, and through an agency, I suspect I cost more than $15, but I have no clue how much they paid for their little bundle of joy!

Our adoptions went through social services and weren't nearly as costly (monetarily) as a private adoption. Of course, our children were not babies when we adopted them, but our case was unique in that we knew them both from birth. :)

Yay First!

Part of our issue is that I work with the local social services / child protection office, so if we wanted to go through the foster parent classes and potentially adopt, we would need to go out of the county to do so, which adds more time, more cost, etc.

On the plus side, if I did adopt I could get $3k of the cost repaid, which would be nice. But it doesn't look likely at this stage of the game.

You would really find my father's family particularly irritating.

Someday I'm going to hack into Idol CCTV so I can get all my entries in advance of having written them.

I may or may not have a home-game entry to share today. It's looking less likely, because after procrastinating all morning, I only just got one stanza done of a sestina for a client (one of the Indiegogo perks I've been putting off fulfilling).

I was going to write a home game entry on woodworking but I have been too buisy woodworking to actually write about it.
I do have some peaces ready to be huffed with steel wool and finnished.
I am also putting the small scraps to good use by cooking them in my mini cauldron and turning them into charcoal for use as a pigment.
Yep I am making my own ink and stain with walnut charcoal.

Ahem!

*points to the topic thread (http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/698394.html)*

We're not so slow here. ;) And now I am feeling quite gay. Good thing I don't want to adopt?

I will not be buying you spaghetti sauce.
This has nothing to do with your politics or policies I just prefer making my own sauce.
I particularly prefer making my sauce with fresh home grown ingredients.
Also I now have spice garden at parents house.
My new African violet is doing well in its cup shaped pot.
