This has been a really weird week for me. Not even sure I can describe it. Not "bad" per se, or even all that "good". Just really weird.

Traded prompts with lrig_rorrim yesterday afternoon, and stayed up until about 1:30 getting the first draft of the story done. What with work and my daughter's birthday taking precedence. *iz brain ded*

It has been utter mayhem at work since I got back from vacation (surprise top-priority project rose up during my absence, OMG you're holding us up! *flog-flog-flog*).

So, definitely a weird week. But not as weird as my story's character will suffer. ;)

I went home last night determined to pound out the first draft, and all I could do was pass out on my mattress and sleep. I did finally drag myself out of bed again. Hubby even watched the rugrats so I could go to Starbies for a couple of uninterrupted hours and work on it. But I didn't finish the draft till today. It was freaking me out big-time!

And of course a top-priority thing emerged while you were gone! That's how the universe works, no? LOL. ;)

Yay for daughter's birthday!!! What sort of cake? (Or did she have cupcakes? Pie? Bubble gum?)

I'll tell you how my day has been.

I've been working on my entry in Notepad. Don't ask me why. It's a thing I do. It's easier than screwing with Word and I don't want to write drafts on LJ because it goes down so much.

Anyway. I've been working on my entry in Notepad and my computer crashes. Like I don't know why it did. It just turned itself off. I could blame it on a cat, because honestly, Opie has skill with keyboard commands, but I honestly didn't notice him on the keyboard. (I was preparing to eat my big salad for lunch.)

Here's the thing about Notepad - no automatic backups.

I am re-creating the wheel now. I'll be the one over in the corner crying and talking to myself.

It indeed has been a weird 7 days....actually 10 days for me, starting from when my cat died on the 5th to witnessing a car accident, ( minor, but still...we knew who one of the parties involved was), Hubby getting jury duty and how Cougar Kitty is STILL crying periodically for her missing pal. At least our weather has finally improved.
