Green Room - Week 10 - Day 7

After receiving a couple emails, and thinking it over, I decided that I will extend the deadline to vote. http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/679567.html Not by a lot, but it *does* give you a little more time to read, comment, and vote for your favorites. Hopefully, that will make things a little easier. Just keep in mind that this means that the monsters that live under your bed are going to be starved a little longer as well, which means they will be extra hungry when I tell them to attack.

Another thing to keep in mind - that the last remaining immunity to give someone else, that was earned in Week 0 - is only good until the Top 25. Which means *this is the last week that the person can use it*. Will it be used, or tucked away as a trophy? Only one person knows that answer...

It's the first day of the last ten where I have a little breathing room, so thank you for the extension. I already voted, but chose to forgo commenting due to time constraints. Now I might be able to go back and comment. :)

Excitement? I'm in the midst of finalizing plans for a trip to NYC at the end of the month. YAY! My step-step-granddaughter graduated from high school in May, so her present was a trip to NYC. I'm also taking my s-i-l who has never been. I get the added boon of being able to see tons of extended family members and spend 10 glorious days away from DH and my son - who I love very much, but let's face it, a vacation from them will be nice.

Bah on extended deadlines. I finished reading and voting last night. Besides which, I worry about you extending the deadline on one end, but then giving us that much less time to write on the other end!! Pfui.

Twitterpated? I got to see The Wolverine movie last night with my hubby and some friends, and it was TEH AWESOME. And yo - STAY THROUGH THE CREDITS, y'all. You will be Very Glad that you did!!

Extensions! I was waiting impatiently for the next home game (http://kajel.livejournal.com/75755.html) topics. ;) I couldn't hold on to my immunity. It was burning a hole in my pocket. I did enjoy using it for someone I didn't know. It took the imagined pressure off of me and I got to read great fairy tales.

Well, apparently not running at Tryon Creek and possibly not going to Oaks Amusement Park today. It's actually raining in Portland! Which was not in the forecast at all, and I completely foprgot about as a possibility. :(

However, Despicable Me 2 is probably in our future in the next few days...

ETA: The extension is much less loved when I stayed up late last night reading and voting, since I was sure I wouldn't have time to finish that today. :(

Hubby has graduated to the second (final) round of interviews. This should be the one that determines his fate. Beam some good thoughts his way next Tuesday! :)

I am also on the "Boo! Hiss!" side of the voting extension, because there were only 28 entries and pushing the deadline means it's that much longer until we get new topics and that much less time we have to write.

I had lunch w a friend/ former work mate. I haven't seen her for a year. She may be moving at Xmas, so I'm glad we got together. Had tomato-ravioli soup and a fish sandwich. Yum.

Normally I'd say - yay extension, since I was going to have to cram to read.

However, I saw someone is taking away votes again (I refreshed the poll when I just checked, same number of participants, one vote less) so I'm not even sure I want to continue to play, I remember the stress of that happening last round all too well.

It's possible for that to happen accidentally if people are voting for part of the poll and then going back to edit to finish.

We've talked about this before, but it is worth repeating. If you go in to edit your votes, you have to make sure the choices you've already voted for are still checked.

But even if someone is doing it strategically, don't let one person's vote-changing run you off from Idol if it's something you find value in. If it is motivating you to write, and you otherwise enjoy it, keep enjoying it.

Strategy always kicks in at the end of the season, even a mini season, and it's the least pleasant part of the game (well, with the exception of the "twists"), but the Idol experience is still worth it, to me at least.

I'm guessing the deadline extension is due to LJ's erratic behavior today? I was just about to cast my vote too. LJ has made me grouchy, and I was thinking it was just my bad luck with electronic devices. My UP band also decided it didn't want to count my steps, and my computer has had issues all week. To add insult, some gadget of my daughters is malfunctioning too- it keeps misreading letters, which is oh so frustrating to a child trying how to learn proper spelling and word building.

So why don't I feel any relieved? Oh yeah. Swim lessons in an hour with a child who hates being submerged in water. Meh!

OT- anyone have any Northern California hotel recommendations? Advice to stay away from certain hotels? I'm all ears and eyes, because I'm trying to plan a mini vacation. TIA.

I didn't know I still had it!! Since I got booted out originally near the beginning, I thought it had been lost to me the first time I was out of the main competition and didn't realize I could still use it.
