Good afternoon.
I was going to post earlier today, but I wanted a chance to catch up with most of the entries first.
Wow, there is some talent out there. This season is going to be tough!
Not to mention HUGE!! Has all of LJ signed up for this season yet?*g* Or are the rest waiting until Friday.
Don't forget to post your Topic 0 posts at: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/69885.html
and most important, remember to go there to READ other people's posts. Like I said, there are some really great ones. Some have been mentioned by other people, and a lot of them haven't yet (there are some REAL surprises for me for people that I already have my eye on who *haven't* gotten more attention...)
and sign up to play this season:
http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/68021.html
If you have any questions, be sure to check out the FAQ: http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/67483.html
I'm asking "veterans" to step up and help some of the "newbies" figure things out. The smoother the process is now, the more fun it will be once we officially get started!
Have a great day!

Date: 2007-10-31 04:17 pm (UTC)I'll likely play next round. But I really think my awesome suggestion should be implemented. Heh.
Re: A comment in which I alienate myself from absolutely everyone, but...it's got to be said.

Date: 2007-10-31 05:59 pm (UTC)Wait... WHAT!?!
BLOO!
Re: A comment in which I alienate myself from absolutely everyone, but...it's got to be said.
Date: 2007-10-31 06:01 pm (UTC)she said with a devilish grin.
Many thanks
Date: 2007-10-31 06:04 pm (UTC)I see the thought behind it, especially with Belenen's comment, but I still find it to be a bit...silly.
Re: I can understand why someone w/ a friends-only LJ would want to participate.
Date: 2007-10-31 06:05 pm (UTC)I feel for your friend though.
Re: A comment in which I alienate myself from absolutely everyone, but...it's got to be said.
Date: 2007-10-31 06:06 pm (UTC)but now I feel like I should write about picking my nose.
I should have a twitter.

That was a yellow one.

Holy fuck that thing didn't want to come out.

There was nothing in there, but it's like a habit ya know?

Date: 2007-10-31 06:07 pm (UTC)Ha! ;)

Date: 2007-10-31 06:08 pm (UTC)Or whatever... isn't that how drama works?
Re: A comment in which I alienate myself from absolutely everyone, but...it's got to be said.
Date: 2007-10-31 06:10 pm (UTC)I wouldn't be as brutal as you here of course.
Let people do what they do and enjoy it and I can continue to question it. But none of this "get out" stuff...
It's like when someone says "I hate this band" and goes to their concert and then instead of saying "oh wait... no I don't", just keeping expelling their hatred.
Those people gotta go!

Date: 2007-10-31 09:07 pm (UTC)I've seen the idea before - usually stated by people who "don't want their friends pages littered with Idol entries" - and I've given it quite a bit of thought, but it seems to be self defeating.

Date: 2007-10-31 09:14 pm (UTC)People who wanted to ensure that their friends read could always do the reverse and put the link to what they wrote in their journal, or even double post.
I'm actually just being selfish. I have very bad tendonitis, and clicking the mouse is extremely difficult for me, so I will NEVER read all of these entries, whereas if they were in a place that showed up on my friends page, I would never MISS one!

Date: 2007-11-01 12:51 am (UTC)Bringing people in and closing up that hub, making it the place to be throughout the week instead of out looking at entries and meeting people seems like the wrong move to me.
That notify link that spydie mentioned does sound like something that would be ideal for you though!

Date: 2007-11-01 12:59 am (UTC)At any rate, I'm really sorry I opened my mouth now. Heh. Good luck with it one way or the other. As I stated from the get-go, neat idea.
Sorry to have troubled you.

Date: 2007-11-01 01:04 am (UTC)You said "Going outward from a central hub, and getting people
to explore what is out there, that's a part of what this is all about.
"
I was under the impression this was a voting type contest, and that is also where I was thinking that readers who were required to vote, should at the least be sure they are reading everything that they need to vote on in order to be fair. Having to do all that clicking around and stuff pretty much guarantees that nobody is really ever going to read all of the posts, and that, I think, is what bothers me about the setup because people will get left out.
Wow I'm an opinionated voyeur. I'm going back to my window now. LOL!

Date: 2007-11-01 06:56 pm (UTC)If someone wants to friend me from there I'm not opposed...I really wanted to join mostly just to see if I could write on topic every week (mostly for myself) but I do have serious (legitimate) concerns about who reads.
