Green Room - Week 10 - Day 2
Jul. 27th, 2013 02:05 amYou don't get anywhere with just gumption. Unless of course we are discussing the currency of Gumptionizania. In which case, that is exactly how you are able to get from place to place.
It's a good thing to have - and will certainly get you through a few doors that might not open right away. But you also need a plan of attack. How are you going to go after this thing that you want? In this case, the entry and the partnership.
There is an active list in the previous Green Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/678228.html of everyone who still needs a partner. There are an even number, so everyone *should* have one. Especially by now. If you don't though, it's time to stick up your hand and wave it around.
Once you have that, you will need the Topic post: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/678049.html
But most importantly, you will need that plan. How are you going to get that partner, what criteria are you using - and how does that impact your approach to this week?

and I got me home game partner already.
I think it's because I'm adorable ^_^
And I have worked with Kajel before and we will just bounce ideas off eachother. It's fun like that.

Date: 2013-07-27 08:28 am (UTC)Clarification Q: Do each of us need to pick a different topic, are we both writing the same topic, or does it not matter one bit, so long as both of our entries address one of the topics on the list?

Date: 2013-07-27 08:31 am (UTC)Don't answer that :p I've been up for almost 15 minutes!
Criteria? Do I like your writing? Have we conversed before? Are you someone I'd like to get to know beter? Are you still looking for a partner? I find the first question to be the most telling: If your writing doesn't move me in any way, I'm probably going to be less keen to intersect with you. I wouldn't expect you not to intersect with me if my writing doesn't move you in any way

Date: 2013-07-27 11:43 am (UTC)I'm up ungodly early at Cracker Barrel to have breakfast with my hubby and a friend who is going through a difficult situation right now. She's upset and needs some shoulders to cry on. Sigh.

Date: 2013-07-27 12:21 pm (UTC)Biggest criteria: Do I think our styles of writing will mesh well? Do I like their style of writing, period? If I can answer both of these questions with yes, then intersections are go. :) I enjoy working with friends and people I'm not entirelyyyy familiar with, as well. I like getting to know new people that way and I definitely enjoy figuring out things together.
I find that the ones where I have to force myself to brainstorm are usually the most enjoyable intersections, and they also bring out some of my best work. This might be because I choose writers I feel are better than me. ;)

Date: 2013-07-27 01:06 pm (UTC)When it comes to choosing partners I'm up for anything and don't really think about it before jumping in. If someone asks for a partner then I'll message them. I always act before I think but it hasn't steered me wrong in intersections yet. :P
I always think it's interesting when you chose a partner who's writing style may not be similar to your own. I'm excited to see what happens this week.

Date: 2013-07-27 02:39 pm (UTC)ETA: Meanwhile, you might want to check in with the other two by PM or something. It's possible that whichever is your partner isn't even aware we're doing intersections this week.

Date: 2013-07-28 05:03 am (UTC)I have animal magnatism.
really.
No really.
Animals are drawn to me like a magnet.
there are two dogs and a cat here and if I sit in on the big couch alone they will all curl up on me.
Heck I was once mobbed by ducks. Not wild ones really but still a mob.
