For those who didn’t see it – I’ve had to adjust the deadline for this week. I was tempted to make it sooner, just to mess with you – but considering that I never do that, I guess we will have to just give you a little *more* time to read and vote. (Note: for some reason, my LJ is acting up and not accepting updates – the new deadline is Friday, July 26th at 11am EDT)

WOOHOO!

I slept eleven hours last night. It was glorious and much-needed. My Hubby's terrific.

Hubby is also on the short-short list of candidates for a really great position. Keep your fingers crossed for us--he may know by the end of this week!

Also, my toddler is dancing with her dad's phone which is currently playing Uprising by Muse. Huh.

Follow-up: the test was successful! The video wasn't great but at least we got to see it. For all past drop tests people back here in Houston have had to wait for word to come via unofficial texts or official emails. Lame!

If I was out there right now, I'd be on my way to get a giant cinnamon roll and side of bacon. Nom.

Had a follow-up with my gastroenterologist yesterday, and my Liver Function Test was finally back in the normal range, w00t! I still have to keep taking the Prednisone (10 mg) until I follow up with him again in six months, but I think if they remain stable and normal that he will start weaning me off the Prednisone at that time.

Also, I'M GETTING MY TATTOO TODAY after work!! I'm psyched and a little nervous - it will be my first (and probably only) one! Here she is - top row, far right - the pink and purple fairy dragonling: HERE (http://www.tattoojohnny.com/search/Fairy/cmap/color?page=7). She will be about 1-1/2" tall when completed. =)

Having a borderline frustrating/empowering day. Life hasn't really eased up but I think I'm on the right path to dealing with it all. I need to make an extensive LJ post about it, because right now I'm not feeling angry, which is good.

I SHOULD have been pack-pack-packing because our vacation starts tomorrow... but mostly, I've been thinking about packing, and checking my list, and gathering a few things, but that's it.

The older I get, the more prone I am to imagining that I make too much of the pre-vacation work, and that it isn't that bad! Then, the night before and day of, I'm swamped and wandering off in a million directions at once trying to get it all done, because "not that bad" was a lie.

That's pretty much what I expect from tonight and tomorrow morning. :O

O hay! I...am trying to get packed and stuff, because I'm flying into Chicago tomorrow. Visiting family in Nowhere Indiana, PRAYING for a goddamn wireless signal...and escaping for a few days next week to meet up with lrig_rorrim and go marauding in the city. Extremely excited about getting the fuck out of Texas for a week and seeing fun people. Nervous as fuck about the wifi situation. Chicago proper won't be an issue (I called the hotel and told them my friend and I were working on an extremely important, time-sensitive business project and it was imperative we got a room with a strong wifi signal) but BFE Indiana worries me.

Glad about the deadline extension! Now I won't be freaking out too bad if I can't refresh the polls mid flight tomorrow. (In a world of airborne terrorists, TSA fuckery, and screaming toddlers that may be seated next to me, my biggest fear is none of these things, but rather the possibility of in-flight difficulties refreshing the poll. Priorities, dammit.)

Care to recommend a book (preferably available on audiobook) about the craft of writing?

I spent today, and will spend the next few days, with one of my sweeties. We're kind of trying to have ALL THE FUN TIMES before he moves to Seattle next week. That's what we're trying to do, but uh, the movers are coming tomorrow morning, and his flight back into town from signing his lease over that-a-way was delayed, and so we're doing a lot of last minute packing and organizing right now and otherwise just general scrambling to get things ready to go. Ugh. I hate moving. I hate nifty people moving away from me even more. Anyway!

Monday I'll be on a bus to go to Chicago and meet up with the super duper porn_this_way and generally geek out in a bunch of science museums for a few days! That is going to be awesome. :)

The community chest is looking magnificent! There are so many creative and talented people willing to give stuff, and I love the variety there. I still need to post pictures of my monster! Zephyrly's monster is truly fabulous (also, she likes wearing hats. She is currently sporting a very stylish strawberry hat).

And now, I gotta go pack more stuff...

RAWR at movers and moving people and delayed flights and generally being stressed out. I really hope the dust settles and you guys get some good quality downtime together.
