There was a post I read this morning saying that the Trayvon Martin's death wasn't Zimmerman's fault, but rather Obama and the protesters - because they are telling people that they don't have to be responsible and that the law doesn't apply to them... that they don't have to work and that society owes them something... which somehow means that some teenager has to die.

Granted, teenagers pretty much have to die anyway.... who wants them around? But in this particular case? I'm not sure that has anything to do with actual events, and actual facts.

So that's my moral of the day, if you are going to imply that anyone, from any race, nationality, sex, whatnot - ESPECIALLY THE WHATNOT - are "asking for it" because they are "taking from you", you should.. well, you know what you "should do"... and it starts with an F and ends with an "Off" ;)

I'm going out to get a Powerball ticket and to go to a coworker's apartment-warming party. Other the that a d one load of laundry, I'm taking it easy.

It's not LJ folks, just the occasional person, sometimes a co-worker here and there. Once in a while it's like, "You've been here HOW long, and you don't know how to do that?" Sigh!

I am currently working on how to tell people to fuck off politely, in a way that gets my mood across but without the words themselves. ;) It's way more fun, that way. Of course, some people just don't get it and you HAVE to be direct with them -- which is a thing I'm working on, too. :)

I love Shakespeare era curses - they are so inventive!

They really are! It's always great looking over Shakespeare era stuff for that reason alone, because some of those insults are just brilliant.

Found this the other day. Probably THE most adorable way to tell someone off in a Shakespeare-esque fashion.

Man, I love seeing things like that. It's like, really? Really really? These people are to blame and not the guy who did the abhorrent thing?

In other news, I actually am sitting here and story-vomming the reworked version of Seize the Day and feel vaguely excited about it. Partially because one of the topics for this week triggered my brain turning things over and over. Partially because one of the parts of that book wants to be the piece I write for my Idol entry.

I dunno if I'm ready to write it but it at least sparked me filling in the gaps I had with the changes I recently made? Poor [livejournal.com profile] n3m3sis43. I have blown up her IM with story-vom while she's trying to write, herself. Oops. xD

I've deliberately stayed away from the coverage of the trial, just because reading any sort of commentary about it gets me angry.

Oh, and there's a Scrabble tournament for me to play in, starting in about 90 minutes. Coverage here: http://event.scrabbleplayers.org/2013/nsc/build/index.html

Helen Thomas (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/21/business/media/helen-thomas-who-broke-down-barriers-as-white-house-reporter-is-dead-at-92.html) died.

This makes me very sad.

Yay kittens! My parents adopted two just last night! They are SO precious. I can't wait to meet them!

Meanwhile, I tormented my 6-year-old cat by taking her to the vet this morning. Mwahahaha.

How does "I disagree with certain people's sociopolitical philosophies" translate to "It's okay to go out and cap someone for eating Skittles"? SERIOUSLY. [Edited to delete political hyperbole because I'm paranoid about spybots and stuff.]

Which protestors are these idiots blaming, anyway? If it's the people who are protesting the Zimmerman verdict, then what was Trayvon's crime, violating the Temporal Prime Directive and creating a paradox? Because if the shooting was caused by something that happened in response to the shooting, that's not a sociopolitical theory, that's a Star Trek episode.
