In the aftermath of the 6/10 disaster, I’m sure everyone is still walking around shell-shocked, wondering what it all means.

I’ll help you – it means that anything can happen, to *anyone* and that it’s never over, until it actually is over! Every season, or in this case, mini-season, has a few events that you look back on and say “Wow, that really impacted how that played out”. I have a feeling that this week is going to be listed as one of those times in the coming weeks.

That said, because it’s something that I think isn’t getting enough attention right now – kudos to everyone who *did* find a way to get something up this week. Not only ‘something’ but it looks like there is a lot of “really good” things to read out there! I am trying to plan my holiday and it suuuuucks. There is like one train line in Kyushu so it takes lots if time and money to get anywhere. Boo. Oh well. At least they lots if two minute noodle options in Japan :)

It's my birthday.

My child gave me the early birthday present of puking on my couch last night. He seems fine today. I have the day off, and I'm writing blog posts. Later I get to go to the yummy ramen place.

This macro and the explanation below is from my dumbass hell week macro post. I love it.

Things started to get pretty crazy in week 28. I don't even remember how many people were left in the competition at that point - thirtysomething? What I do know is that everyone left was all in a tizzy that week, first because Gary told us to "bring our A-game", next because it was a contestant-only vote, and finally because of the (DUN DUN DUNNNNN) Act of God that wiped out Gary's Internet and any eliminations slated to occur that week. Holy shit, was I pissed.

Today: stats studying, dishwashing, redoing my nails, shower, and long-project poking. Attempting to stay out of the Hannibal tag on tumblr, because it's fast becoming my new favorite fandom/show, and it's going to eat my hours like mad. Maybe once I get the studying out of the way...

Oh, and since I think there's some confusion on my entry: it's fiction! Should probably edit the link over in the entry post to reflect that.

Good morning everyone. It's sad that RL knocked so many people out, depriving Gary of the opportunity to do so. Looks like summer might be official here. Walked out to take my kids to summer pre-school and the cul-de-sac was full of children playing.

Just applied to three more jobs, and emailed two people about others.

I submitted my entry 30 minutes before it was due, so I'd like to think I was that last qualifier for the Olympics or something. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I haven't decided whether to go read entries next or something else.

Still need to finish reading (I only pre-read about a dozen entries), but that will be later today. And we got caught up through episode 4 of Game of Thrones last night; still 6 episodes to go to finish the season.

Can I just say right now how AWESOME Daenerys is? She is SO my favorite character!

Today I am on a mission to find a tasteful comfortable non-cleavage baring blouse (in a size that will accommodate the boobs but not be a tent elsewhere) to wear to an 80th birthday party this weekend, that wont get ruined when my one year old tries to pull the neck down to nurse and embarrass me royally. I hate shopping for myself! I suspect failure and gardening are in my future.

Summer Reading starts tomorrow. I'm trying not to panic. Before I put up my entry yesterday (and I'm not that thrilled with it, simply because I've been so rushed for time) I had to drive to the craft store in the next county over to find cookie cutters, and high rag content paper, and a blender...

I may be a little insane from having had a one-day weekend and a lot of house chores this week, too (changed out the kitchen faucet, mowed the lawn, put up with the a$$hole ex, still didn't get to the mall to buy the makeup that doesn't irritate my skin gorrammit).

A lot of people wrote sad stuff this week.
We have a break in the rain here in the Midwest.
by break I mean its gone more then a day with the sun out.
Its nice enough today that we could dry clothing out side by hanging them on rope or cord or "line".

Primeval:new world started with a Connor cameo.
Primeval season 6 is finally going to air on BBCamerica - not that I get the channel but I can watch on enternet. I wonder if we will get to see Connor and Abby get married or if the season will start with them hitched.

I got a job upgrade! Next year, I'm going to be the elementary school librarian instead of a teacher's assistant! It should come with a raise and a fancy new title ("librarian-at-arms"? can I do that?) but even if it doesn't, I'm really excited for this opportunity!

No, I've never been to librarian school or ever worked in a library. I'm supposed to start training with the current librarian before she leaves the country this summer to get a crash course in library science.

Sorry guys.. there was just no way for me to get a post together with everything that's going on with my dad. He was in ICU in an induced coma last week and woke up on Friday, but is still in bad shape. He can't walk and will probably need to go to a rehabilitation center for awhile. He and I both run our own businesses, so on top of my (already busy) schedule, I'm trying to run his business and also get him whatever he needs at the hospital. It's just too much all at once. Hoping I can read and follow along with my favorite writers once things calm down.
