A few words from clauderainsrm:

I won’t even try to come up with something clever to start out this particular Voting post, because anyone who has been paying attention to the topic thread knows there is bad news coming.

Mainly, a massive “missed the deadline and are eliminated list”. There are a ton of favorites on this list, and some who were quickly joining their ranks. Even a couple names that I, personally, thought that I would be seeing in the last couple of weeks of this mini-season. But life, it does happen, and messes up even the best of plans.

Leaving us this week are: ellakite, lawchicky, maneless, mazuki, medleymisty, mezzogiorno, mothermelete, neverletyoupart, sarcasmoqueen and yuniebaby

It’s as if the universe was lurking at the edge of things, waiting for Second Chance to be over, before striking.

I’m really sorry to see you folks go, and I think I can speak for a lot of your friends and fans here when I say that I hope you continue to Home Game!

As for the rest of you, as if that wasn’t enough of a blow - we are still going to be losing two more this week.

So, make sure to get out there and support your favorites!

I'm so sad I couldn't get it together this week. I have not been feeling well & even ended up spending some time in the hospital...I intended on trying to get it done all week even up to this afternoon but.. between the just not feeling well & some pretty strong pain medication, I just couldn't pull it off. :(

*hugs* to everyone else that missed the deadline regardless of reason & good luck to everyone that did! I will definitely be reading, voting & hanging around. Hopefully next time around I can try again!

Real life happened and my kids ate those Tide laundry pods today, so instead of posting to LJI, I was rushing home early from work to take them to the emergency room. On the way, my 3-year-old Riley was lethargic and drooling and hallucinating (waving his fingers in front of his face and swiping the air like he was trying to grab something in front of him). My 22-month-old didn't ingest much, his grandma got to him right as he bit into it. They both threw up right away, and are going to be fine, doc said there wasn't anything horrifically toxic, but Riley had a sore tummy for a few hours. They did eat dinner and are now sleeping like peaceful little angels.

*sigh* I hope to be back for Season 9 and to really push my boundaries a lot more with my writing (and procrastinating? I knew I should have posted this weekend).

Bummer about the folks that are leaving. I barely got in under the deadline, including writing it on my phone in the parking lot after dinner with a friend who needed it.
