My dread has been lifted since I posted in the wee hours of the morning. Whew!

So far, Dread is having a nice weekend. There was much beer cheese yesterday, and that was yummy. :)

The weekend has been kind of crappy because I was sick in bed all day yesterday but today I'm up and about. I feel much better.

My sense of doom dread rode into town on Thursday, bust open my back door on Friday, and has been lying around on my couch drinking all my beer for the whole weekend.

It suddenly got up and saw the light this morning, and has been yodelling like a yodelling thing instead of looming like a looming thing.

Which is probably an improvement.

But I am still out of beer.

I don't know if a yodeling thing is really that much better than a looming thing, because at least looming things tend to be quiet, whereas yodeling... not so much!

My sense of dread is pretty much taken care of. I just finished drafting my entry and now am looking for a beta reader (hint hint, any takers?). I need to work on my stats work tomorrow like crazy, but right now I'm having fun planning a trip to NYC next Sunday with my dad for Father's Day! I'm thinking we can get lunch and then maybe an afternoon tea somewhere. It'll be awesome.

I wish I could remember the name of this wonderfully eclectic tea and dessert place in NYC. I think it might have been in or near Little Italy. The decor was all these overstuffed wing-back style chairs on the inside... very cool, but it's been so long that my mind is blank. I know my hubby would remember the name but he's asleep right now. *sigh*

Now I'm gonna kick the other humans out of the house, lock the kitties in a room with food and water and toys and desperately try to make the brain go. My sense of doom has actually been eased by not doing anything other than hanging out on Tumblr yesterday and then eating brownies that the spousal person made (he adds honey and chocolate chips and also maybe extra sugar, I don't know?) and watching a movie with him.

I will be taking a shower relatively soon, and after that I will get started on my story. Which I've decided it will be set in the Farmer Brown universe, so really I don't feel a sense of doom at all - it'll be easy and fast to write once I get started. :)

Yesterday a Simmer deleted their Tumblr, and I found out that there's a thread about them on Simsecret with over 400 comments. They made a new Tumblr and came back already, but it brought up the subject of secrets and anonymous hate in the community.

I have to admit that the devil on my shoulder is telling me to go to Simsecret, lay a good old fashioned MedleyMisty smackdown on those hateful anons, and use it as my LJ Idol entry for the give 'em hell prompt.

I'd do it too, except for the part where I'm pretty sure that my ex-best friend is a moderator at Simsecret now.

I wish we could get that place shut down. It's a blot on the Sims community, and it's evil and nasty and a hellhole and all it does is cause pain and drama.

It is my experience that those places just give home to the drama and hate spew.
They are like the sewers of the communities they serve and just make it possible to flush all the waist out of the other places so that everything is not ruined by it.
Lets face it the worse people that go there would be spewing their rhetoric anyway.

I just finished a draft of my entry! It involved a lot of looking back through old posts, so it of course took a lot longer than it should have -- I kept getting distracted! Now I have to set it aside for a while, so I can look at it with fresh eyes tonight. Hopefully it's going to be interesting and not yawn-inducing...

I'm at the stage where I have a spreadsheet of all my past Idol entries, so I can see what I've already written about and if it has any bearing on my Current Entry (as it did this week) so I can link if desired. It also helps remind me what nonfiction has already been written about, so that I'm not re-hashing the same stories!

Because honestly, 99 weeks in the main game + Ex A + Ex B = Potentially Confuzzled Ro!

I ran my first busker festival! Sooooo pleased at how it went. 14 really solid acts performed, mostly people I'd worked with before, and two new to me that I hired on the strength of their video promo.

Only one run-over (where a guy went long on his show, which throws the schedule off), and only one, "Oh shit I'm on right now!" as someone ran out of the food-and-resting tent to get to their show. The audience was super impressed with all the acts I hired, and my boss who runs the overall festival was happy with what I did.

So brag, brag, brag, and now I just have to survive the closing party :) Socializing is way more scary than circus!
