While the internet is turning overreaching by Texas prosecutors into a "war on women" and declaring that it's OK to kill escorts, no one is bemoaning the "war on Idol contestants" that goes on every single day. Probably because it's fairly accepted these days that it's OK to eliminate Idol contestants.

I just got my schedule and am about to head out for a day full of traffic and tours!

Just did a unicorn story, so the if wishes were horses topic is out.

I am so tempted by shadow children, but if I go with that one I’m going to have to think of a way to make it different from the obvious ghost story type thing. Hmmm…..

I could do all four, with dark demon children riding flaming horses to deliver hell and damnation unto the world, but then on the way one maybe gets bitten by its flame-y horse and the bite wound gets infected. And its little demon children friends are so sad, and they wish that the infection would go away, but it won’t, and they just have their fiery demon horses. But maybe like its closest demon child friend could wish really hard for medical help, and the story could end with it slapping one of the fiery horses on the rump, sending it running back to hell with the message that the demon children need help…

Hmmm…

Also yay it's Friday! Gonna post a Story Music Friday post on my Tumblr later, and then we might go out to eat at our newly rebuilt local grocery store and then get groceries - it has a big deli area and it serves subs and it has a Starbucks, and it has all sorts of seating on the ground and second level, so yeah. :)

Lucky me, I've got the afternoon/evening shift at work today. OTOH I've got the early shift tomorrow! I was also told that I'm getting my old shift back, albeit with modifications because of my weight-lifting restriction...which means I now have to get re-used to getting up at the buttcrack of dawn :boggle:

Right now Max Dog is with Daddy. I think Ember is enjoying the peace and quiet!

My weekend involves starting a new fitness regime with my friend. We are going to challenge one another to see who can complete the 30 Day Shred.

BBQ on Saturday with some of my favorite extended family. Best part is that it's NOT at my house, so I don't have to cook or clean. :)

Lunch or dinner sometime Sunday with my sister-in-law and granddaughter to plan our big trip to NYC in August. I grew up in the 'burbs, but they've never been and are extremely excited. I am too, because I'll be able to see family members that I haven't seen in over a year.

My friend's son is graduating HS as valedictorian! So that's part of today's plan - attending his graduation and hoping he wrote and can deliver a decent speech, since he's never done any public speaking before.

I'm thinking unless I finish up this ark, most of my weekend plans will take place indoors.

I'm going on a grocery- and OMG HOW much birdseed????-run this afternoon (a friend gave the resident Bird Whisperer a $20 gift certificate. Wonderful, but it expires Sunday), then probably hibernating and writing and painting the rest of the weekend. I'm torn between two of the prompts, so I'll probably pay with both.

Which means a looooong weekend for the spousebeast. Maybe I should bring home beer for him. ;)

So glad today is Friday.

I may go out with the spouse tonight to a local bar in the area, drink until my head is fuzzy, and dance like an idiot. Then go home and sleep like the dead.

EveryWordIWrite asked me to let everyone know that she thanks y'all for the comments, and she's sorry she hasn't been able to comment this week. A wrist injury has flared up and she's in extreme pain right now. They prescribed painkiller last time and EveryWordIWrite has a brace, but the pain was intense enough yesterday that even on the painkiller she wasn't able to finish out the day at work. This morning she went back to the ER. She asked me to let everyone know why she wasn't participating as much as she would like this past week, and to tender her apologies.

Update (from me): ER gave her more painkiller. Better than nothing, but not really the "find out what's wrong and how to heal it" we were hoping for. Can y'all keep her in your thoughts/think good thoughts her way/[insert preferred version of that expression here]?

Maybe next time I should play three alts? ...Wait, one of these is my main. Two alts! Three accounts? Does that seem extreme? That seems sort of extreme.

Also, turning into Spiderman, because I have a bug bite. But the internet says it is not a spider bite because is not melting my skin off? Perhaps I shall turn into IDunnoWhatThisBugIsMan instead. O.o Funny, the gender-changing potentials of bug bites.

I felt like I was making the same comment every three minutes or so on my friends list where people were flaying without actually *reading* more than the headline.

It's horrible that the guy walked. He shouldn't have. But when you go for Murder instead of Manslaughter, in a state with the Death Penalty, that is what is going to happen unless you present an air tight case.

People don't want to hear that though - they want the flash of "It's OK to kill women in Texas"! Because that fits their narrative better than "sometimes Prosecutors go all in when they shouldn't and screw things up".

I see baking in my weekend future. I need to anchor myself to home after my travels. Of course, that means I need to find the kitchen first, which is no small feat considering the fact that the hubby and kiddo have been on their own for about a week...
