I'm also working with joyfulfeather and it is FUN. Right now I'm working on finishing my story so that I can send it to her before bedtime. We're rocking this time zone thing :)

Also, it's CHILLY here in Perth! We got down to 3C last night (which is like 45F or something, I'm hopeless with Fahrenheit) and it will be only slightly warmer tonight. We don't have central heating in our houses here, so it's all about doonas and blankets and lots of cuddling :D

Good morning green room. No sick cars here and I am pretty sure I broke the kids ages ago, or maybe they broke me. Hubby just left to go to a karate tournament. I have grocery shopping, entry editing and haircut getting to do today. I am #1 Mom today, because I made whole wheat banana cinnamon pancakes for breakfast this morning.

Making some homemade granola for a late-morning breakfast while my wife is out running errands. Trying to translate my entry from "in my head" to "in a post" -- though I'm not sure which one would be considered more "real." Today will be a race to do the yardwork before the thunderstorms arrive.

I really really need and want to rename my LJ. I love the name belleweather and have had it for over ten years, but the real name/journal name separation is breaking down to an unacceptable degree, so I need a rename. Sadly I cannot think of a damned thing to rename myself, and I'm very "Grrr! Arrrgh!" about not being able to think of anything, which makes me LESS about to think of anything. :(

Hmmm not much to this green room post but there's an official reference to that degenerate fristing habit. Though ironically the first poster nobly declined the encouragement to engage in it, but then, no doubt spurred on by the reference in the entry itself, several people reminded them of it. So altogether I give this greenroom a 2.0 geoduck rating.

It's Saturday! The sun is shining and I'm not at work. This is good! Also, I'm finally getting my hair cut today. I'm a bit nervous, because I've never been to this hairdresser, but at least she was recommended by a friend.

And then I get to meet said friend's dog. <3

I have a draft of my entry and ecosopher approves! I'm going to take another pass over it and get a beta, plus we'll see how it works with her story when she's done, but I think it'll be awesome all together. Yay!

I'm riding out the last waves of a spectacular hangover, though through trial, error, and entirely too much personal experience, I have come to discover that chugging a 1:1 mixture of gatorade and mountain dew and using it to wash down a few tylenol or ibuprofen (you don't want aspirin on an empty stomach, trust me on that one) is THE One Hangover Cure to Rule Them All. Gonna work on my entry for a bit, then get ready to go out again tonight, since one of the girls in the math department is hosting a geeky, booze-friendly game night, which will likely translate to "Munchkin and Vodka." I'm looking forward to it.

I am trying to sleep and make up for not sleeping all week, but the one cat of our four who is particularly attached to me kept trying to eat my fingers and purring extremely loud and making lots of noise and make me get up. So I got up to go to the bathroom and to put her out of the bedroom, and I am checking the internet before going back to bed to see if I can go back to sleep.

When I don't read replies, it's because of severe social anxiety. Which is improving. Slowly. Speaking of improvement - I have been looking at my f-list and trying to comment on other people's entries more the last few days! :)

I am looking forward to writing my entry. It's going to be all whimsical and absurd and fun and in my more silly surreal style, which will be nice comedic relief after last week's entry. See - I'm a pony of many tricks! :)

Last night we went out to eat, went shopping, and then the spousal person baked cookies and we ate them while watching Mean Girls, and then talking about how our high schools were NOTHING like the one in the movie.

Also I do believe that part of Trader Joe's business plan is to teach people about non-attachment. They let you get really attached to soy nuggets or a certain kind of tea, and then they take it away. Forever. And you are left to learn that attachment causes suffering.

Good afternoon from the dining room table. I made banana-chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, am busy doing a bit of Beta work, playing around online, and wrangling the Laundry Monster. My kitty is asleep in her cat bed on the other side of the room. This evening we're planning on going out to see the new flick "Now You See Me" about the team of illusionist bank thieves, which looks really awesome!

Good thing you don't live here. It's been in the 80s for a while, and I'm sure it will be 100 and over for a good long while later in the summer. My phone says it's 89 now.

My ancestors that I know of lived in either Ireland or the plains here (I know I have Irish and Sioux ancestors) so I'm generally okay. Except for the part where I don't really sweat all that much, and instead when I get too hot I get sick and sometimes puke.

The thermometer just hit 92 here and this is really a heat wave for around here. I gardened a little this morning before it got too hot then went out for s few groceries. Have a date with the fan and my i-pad for games in a few: chillaxin' with some ice tea... Ahhhh, Nice. :)

They Might Be Giants last night in Milwaukee were super awesome - I mean, They're always super awesome, but I really thought this was a particularly good show. We got there early enough to snag a balcony spot right across from the stage, so I didn't have to battle with tall dudes to see things. Yay!

Also, the Johns were handing out stickers after the show, and gave me a bunch. They're yellow and look like this (http://www.merchdirect.com/TheyMightBeGiants/Stickers/CreaturesBumperStickerPack/?productid=16679). Would anyone like one? I will happily stick it in an envelope and mail it off to you, if you're silly brave cool enough to give me a mailing address.

Tonight I'm going to see Wicked. I don't think it will rock as much as TMBG, but that's ok. Tomorrow I'm hosting an Arrested Development watching party. Oh, and I'm juuuuust about done with editing entry things. I should get back to that...

I got my learner's permit this morning! Hurray! Now I'm feeling sleepy and like I'm coming down with something -- nooo, go away bad germies! Hoping that lots of rest and tea will sort things out. First draft is away to the partner still, but I'm going to try and draft something for the Glimmer Train fiction open that's due at the end of the month.

I got that email today too! I also got the same kind of email from Ploughshares, which it's now officially June so when I saw I had an email from them I was all OMG OMG OMG, but it was just the general announcement for their reading period.

If my story doesn't win their contest, Glimmer Train is the next place I'm going to submit. :) So hopefully I'll find out the results in time.
