My day is hard. Kiddo threw up randomly this morning in his crib but has seemed fine ever since. This still means he's not supposed to go to daycare, so here I am with him.

This is okay, but I got crap sleep and my husband was pissy and wahhhhh. These don't seem like very big problems in the grand scheme of things. I'd rather not work today, anyway.

I finally made my writing blog and finished a chapter I was working on forever. So yay for that. :D

I am in the Green Room when I should be both in bed and writing my entry. BUT! It is coming along and I think I will have a good 'draft' to send to witchdollie shortly.

Today, we have been painting, painting, cleaning, painting. The children had their tea in the garden on a picnic rug because the table is covered with Stuff. Two more days until house appraisal (hence the big cleanup and DIY stuff) and tomorrow, we should find out if our offer on the new house was accepted! I sound really excited about that on paper, but really, I'm kind of expecting them to knock it back and so I'm kind of just humming along steadily instead of being on a roller coaster high.

Partnerless.

I must admit to a certain amount of frustration with the "etiquette" of seeking out an intersection partner. Asking one person at a time sucks when "I'm already taken" responses are slow in coming, if they come at all, and sending out invitations to a group seems a sure-fire way of ticking off all but one member of said group.

With clients circling overhead with more time-sinking work, I find it difficult to stay abreast of what's going on around here (there would appear to be several places to visit about "getting a partner"), so... any, um, "volunteers"?

I'm not available to partner you, but what I've always done is send emails/PMs to a few people, being honest and saying I've also contacted a few other people but if they want to pair up, please let me know and I will if I'm still free.

I did this in season 8 when I was a newb, and people didn't seem pissed off? But then, I'm kind of good at pissing people off in general sometimes so I'm not sure if this is good advice or not. :)

If anyone new has questions or wants advice, please feel free to PM me (or email at n3m3sis42(at)gmail(dot)com if LJ is borked again later). I already sent some stuff up to one of my friends who is new this season, so it's easy enough for me to expand on that.

(bear in mind that my "veteran" status includes basically just season 8, but there were 4ish intersection weeks that season and I loved the hell out of all of them)

I didn't watch any of this last season of PR. I've been rather meh about it since it moved to Lifetime -- a great big "something" was lost in translation and they haven't regained it IMO.

However, Wipeout is on again! The show has no redeeming intellectual value, but it's perfect when you need a really good laugh.

I would've liked working with someone I didn't really know for intersections, but alas, I knew I wouldn't have time for exhibit B.

I'm in the green room now because I'm procrastinating on editing my novel. I spent my day also procrastinating, but my excuse is that I was checking out my competition for joining this exclusive pirate club wherein I ended up being a semifinalist amongst 49 other people. I think I might be the most unknown amongst the group, because no one there has any idea who I am, but it looked like to me that at least a few of them know each other.

Anyone have any tips for avoiding procrastination? I need to turn my Internet off again, don't I?

I am all for partnering with noobs, but umm.....these topics were sent from evil heaven especially for me. Writing something epic takes precedence over every other consideration - well, okay, for me that's always true, but especially so when you give me topics so extremely tailored to my strengths.

So I'm not sorry for immediately grabbing the person most suited to writing epic things with me. And when you guys see our story, you won't be sorry either. ;)

I promise on Seth to make new friends in future intersections. :)

Just got back from a GREAT day of RIP with Pete. The only down side so far today is that they were mowing when I got there and the cut grass was still all around when I left. So now my head feels the size of a beach ball and breathing isn't something that is happening well for me today. I suspect it's going to be a relaxing day rather than a productive day. But those are ok every once in awhile. Tomorrow will be house-productive. (Today, however, will have my post up - where I'll be intersecting with adoptedwriter.)

Late Commenter League: Late-breaking news

Season Three legend (and my significant other) the_dark_snack has been recovering in the hospital this week from a major seizure suffered Monday. Her congestive heart issues seem to have resurfaced and yesterday they did a cardiac inversion (or whatever the term is) to get the heartbeat at the right speed and rhythm. Tests are coming out OK, which leaves the question of what caused the seizing; she's got an EEG scheduled for today. Mostly tho, she is OK but bored, and is to be released tomorrow.

Some happy news: the teenaged girl from my daughter's school was brought safely home yesterday afternoon. She had run off with an "Internet boyfriend," and we don't know any more details (such as whether this guy was an adult, possibly with a record as a sexual predator).

We hardly dared to hope she'd make it home safely, so this is very good news!

Ugh. I'm so screwed.

Woke up this morning to one of the worst migraines I've had in years. Had to take 2 pain killers to get rid of it (and that only took the edge off) which make me loopy and sleepy. Plus it was a half day for my kids so they're home making noise which just makes things worse with the migraine.

And I haven't even started my entry. I've barely talked to my partner.

Already freaking out because I can't make coherent thoughts all doped up so how am I going to write something?!?

Anyone got a time machine so I can go back to tomorrow and start again?

Yesterday was an emo-coaster for me.

Today is much better, and hopefully, rehearsal goes well tonight. If you live in Los Angeles, you can totally come sit in on that rehearsal if you like.

One question though: Does the topic need to be in our title? It's in the subject already, but I don't want to be repetitive.

To be honest, there are some people who are always going to try to mention "the topic" in their entry and I always think it's a mistake. (I won't even say "rookie mistake" since plenty of vets make it as well)

Let it be your guide rather than try to fit it in.
