There is a discussion in that thread about “how to vote” for folks who might not be sure. Some important things to know: This is check boxes, not circles. In practical poll terms, this means you are being encouraged to vote for as many (or few) people as you want!
If you need to add or change a vote, click on the poll name and then hit “edit”. You can change your votes, but thanks to our wonderful friends at LJ, you need to make sure that everything else stays checked. If not, you will need to recheck every vote you want to cast!

There are some people offering spreadsheets and lists of who wrote what. These can be useful, if you are think you need some extra help. But really, the only thing you need is to read the entries, comment on them, and then vote for your favorites! So make with the clickies!!

Well, tonight and tomorrow morning are going to be pretty busy, but after that I'm pretty much free until Tuesday. I'm helping to coordinate parking at a tree festival tomorrow morning with my SO. Tonight i might be helping him with putting a radio antenna on a baseball cap, or I just might be chilling out with my computer in the living room. Not sure yet! The latter will give me plenty of time to read entries, though!

It's going to be summery weather here this weekend, so I intend to enjoy it as much as possible. I have no idea what's happening for Mothers Day. Usually SO and his sibs chip in for a Mothers Day brunch at an area restaurant, but there's been no mention of anything like that. Ditto a dinner what-have-you.

My MIL is an avid gardener, so every year I alternate between buying her something she can plant or a hanging basket for the porch. And now I can't remember which I got her last year because whatever it was I alternate it this year. Not that it matters in the long run, but it disturbs my equilibrium for some odd reason...

My weekend: tonight dinner w The Mothership and a couple o friends we haven't seen since 1984, but I found through their son who is a mutual friend of a friend on FaceBook! Saturday: Zumba, tutoring and touring the hippy-dippy shops in Uellow Springs w Married Kid. Sunday: brunch for Mommys' Day since Fuzzy1 has to work that night. It's gonna go fast.

Today is going to be yet another round of "Find the Overdue Audiobook" with Santa Pete (I swear, I think he loses them on purpose) and a trip to the library to return it. After that, grocery shopping.

This weekend, I plan on hiding. The town is about to explode (who decided it was a good idea to have UNC's graduation on Mother's Day????) and I have....issues around Mother's Day. I'm going to read, cook, make the obligatory calls and try not to cry too much.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

This struck me SO funny. I guess because I got the mental image of one time I was at a big work conference, where we had an "ice breaker" exercise where we had to line ourselves up in order by various things, and it was fairly chaotic, as there were a lot of us.

Then my brain took that image and applied it to trying to air-traffic-control the Idol contestants to post their topics in order by user name. When we can't even get people to sign up to claim their topic, and when some people every. single. week. are posting their entry at the deadline. Can you imagine being alphabetically behind them? And you could change your user name to "aaaaaaaaa" or maybe "____________a" but then you'd have to finish early every week.

Also it was totally a joke, and I know that, but my brain did all that in about a second and it cracked me up, and it took a lot longer to explain and I think it made me sound a little - "special."

My "weekend" plans include an impromptu trip to Florida to visit my bf for 12 days... and then straight on to california to visit the friends/family. I'll be very preoccupied for most of the summer so that makes me happy! I love funemployment XD. NOW, if I'm still funemployed after the summer ends... well that's another story.

In other news, I went to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with Bipolar I. He wants to stick me on a mood stabilizer, but I'm really, really against happy pills for personal reasons, so I think I'm not going to do it. My parents and boyfriend are very much in denial or not accepting the diagnosis in general. My parents said that after my psychotic episode, the therapist I was taken to called them in for a private meeting and said I had schizophrenia, which they also didn't believe, but they were instructed not to tell me because schizophrenics don't believe that they have a mental illness. His son suffered from it, so that's what he thought. WELL, it turns out I didn't have it after all XD. It was only an isolated incident. Bipolar is more likely since it can result in psychotic breakdowns, which is what happened. Let's just hope for the sake of me and my family that doesn't occur again!

Oh, Green Room, why must you appear to tempt me when I need to be in bed?! I was good yesterday and tried to ignore it but the siren's song (or was that someone making fart sounds with their armpit?) called me back.

This weekend is cleancleanclean as we get ready to have the house appraised next Friday. Meanwhile I am filling in paperwork for a new house since the first one we put an offer in for (and LOVED) is just too expensive right now. Poo. Oh well.

My mom is coming for a visit shortly, which should be nice. It's good when the toddler gets to spend time with her Grammy. And then tomorrow we have commencement for SO and then a small graduation party (which means tonight I've got to do some baking and preparation).

So far I've gotten some lovely comments on my entry. :) That always feels good. And I'll be working to read through some more posts and commenting when able, because I've got to pass that feeling along.

Weekend plans so far only include a Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday. I've been promoted from princess to Queen, so I am eagerly awaiting what the new princes and princesses have in store. I've been told that I won't have to cook anything, but since it's being held at my house, I'll have to clean. Or just say "screw it, you've all seen my house at its worst before." DH steam cleaned the carpets yesterday, so it's not entirely bad.

I'm going to try to bake a few individual cakes for the young mothers in my family who will be there. Individual cakes will be a first for me and I still haven't completely decided on flavors or decorations. I'm thinking about a first foray with ganache, but I'm not sure I want to put in all the effort.

However, my first inclination would be to use box mixes, in the flavor the young mother likes best, make the cakes small, and decorate prettily with regular frosting.

That way, you can bake everything, and then assembly-line decorate them all at once, with individual touches for each mother. Highly special focus, but much easier on you. ;)

Well, we will probably be doing a thing for me on Mother's Day. We used to go to Marineword/Discovery Kingdom, but now they have 2-for-1 on Mother's Day and Father's Day, and it's too crowded. Sometimes we miniature golf, sometimes it's a movie.

My daughter has proposed a short bike ride on the bike path, stopping for a picnic lunch. However, being in high school, she followed that up with, "But I don't really have time for that." So, ??? It'll be something. Something she can't weasel out of. ;)

There will also be tackling of the ungodly weeds/prunables in the yard on Saturday, and apparently a lot of reading of Idol entries too. :O

I would go nuts without my spreadsheet. I thought I was brilliant/crazy/neurotic for thinking it up, only to find out everyone else does it, too, and now I feel much less alone.

I DID have weekend plans of editing one of my drafts, hopefully this won't distract me TOO much.....

ETA: OH YEAH. I totally forgot I'll also be going to Scarborough Faire (our local ren fest) on Saturday, and hopefully a Josiah Leming concert on Sunday. And doing NOTHING with my mother. NOTHING.

(We are both busy. She'd be coming to the concert with me otherwise as she's a bigger fan than I am.)

Due to anticipated ground sogginess, our commencement exercises have been moved to a large local Methodist church. What this means is that the relative anonymity I enjoy when commencement day is fine (little me in my black robes nestled amongst a sea of other faculty in black robes in our little section of the audience off to the side)--

--well, none of that for me tomorrow, since rain site means we sit in the choir loft of the mega church--behind the main stage facing the audience--ON DISPLAY.

tl;dr: I hate rainy day commencement ceremonies.

I didn't even go to my OWN college graduation. :O
