Good morning Green Room!

This morning I woke up, checked LJ and FB and then decided it was time to get up to go pee, because, you know, 8+ hours since last time. And then there was a knock on the door with my SO ordering me to go back to bed. Um, okay, I replied. A moment later he returns to inform me "You can't have breakfast in bed if you're not in bed!" :)

Now I'm just relaxing with a cup of coffee and some quiet while daughter is at the farmer's market with grandparents. It's a nice morning.

I made a few friends at the frenzy yesterday. That was kind of exciting. Hello friends!

And I hope people hurry up and sign up, because I want to get started. Even if I haven't settled on what topics I'll be emailing in.

I didn't really know what the big deal was with Zach Braff, I just knew he used Kickstarter recently, so I went and did a little bit of Googling...and apparently, that's all it is. He used Kickstarter and people are butthurt. Frankly, I think that's bullshit.

No one twists anyone's arm to donate to a Kickstarter project. The people who donated want to see the project happen. Bitching about that is like saying, "How dare these people like something enough to pay for it!!!!" When that's what people do EVERY DAY to obtain anything. Kickstarter is a useful tool for creators to bypass traditional production procedures and create the thing they want to create, supported by people who want to see it happen. Which is AWESOME, cutting out the middle man to create more direct art is fantastic, regardless of how "famous" the person making the art is. Shut up, Internet.

Good morning Green Room! I am mostly over the ridiculous cold I caught at the tail end of my big journey. I think maybe today I'll finally have time to edit some pictures and get a trip report written up on my main journal (that would be cislyn, for those who didn't know my not at all really super sekrit alternate identity yet).

Then again, the boy is talking about doing some role playing and there's all kinds of stuff in the house I need to catch up on, and I feel like I haven't written anything creative in ages... I'm good at procrastinating, and the fun part of a trip is the going on it part, rather than the talking about it afterwards part.

I'll be poking about the various friending frenzy posts and probably adding a few people here and there. You're all neat. :)

Havin' a good day over here, to be honest. It's beautiful out, the kid decided that instead of waking me up, he wanted to crawl into bed with us and fall back asleep. Yay getting to stay in bed until 9? Though I was squished between a tiny human being and a larger one for at least an hour, maybe two.

It's also my roommate's birthday today and I want to bake him something BUT HE WON'T TELL ME WHAT TO BAKE. LET ME GIVE YOU FOODS, FRIEND. THEY ARE DELICIOUS.

This weekend sucks for me. Today is the anniversary of my divorce; tomorrow is my estranged son's 16th birthday.

Um... well, I slept in this morning (stayed up too late, and then couldn't stay awake to get myself ready for bed, which is some sort of cruel irony!)

I'm going to the library to return books, and if I'm not careful I'll get new ones. My son is a book piggy, and it seems like I do this every freakin' week. :O

I still need to finish putting plants in the ground. I bought them last weekend and the one before, but got derailed by yard cleanup (never-ending) and then the sudden trip to Idaho for my sister that ate my entire last Sunday.

Cleaning up the clutter/unused things? That's the aspirational goal that so rarely happens. ;)

Today's been an awesome, if somewhat soggy, day. My family and I went to one of the local comic shops for Free Comic Book Day. Came away with a lot of wonderful free comics, a new graphic novel for each of us (I picked up "Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters"), a copy of the hard cover 30th Anniversary Edition of "X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga", which we got for free because of the money we spent on the other goodies, and a chance to see lots of wonderful Cos Players dressed up for the occasion. Then we went to a local restaurant to join roina_arwen and her husband for lunch. We've been friends for years and years but this is the first time we've had a chance to meet face to face. And it was wonderful. We even kicked Gary in absentia!

Now I've got my kids upstairs cleaning their room, I'm about ready to make some brownies for my eldest's End of Year Sunday School party, and then I'll be relaxing with some new comics.

Can you ask for a better Saturday?
