Green Room - Week 11 - Day 7

The poll closes tonight: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/641109.html and on most days, there is usually one person who you can say “Yeah, they are probably leaving”, because they fell behind on the votes early and are now in a bit of a hole. Is there someone like that this poll? Well, there’s someone who is behind on votes – but only by a few, and those people are only a few votes under the middle of the pack – and *those* are within a couple votes of the people on the top! 10 votes in any direction is going to make a huge difference right now. So, literally, today is the day when this is going to be decided.

That said – all of you have been awesome this mini-season, and it’s going to be a shame to lose you from the competition. Not saying that I won’t cut you like a 4-year old with a plastic knife who has been watching Ninja Turtles! But that maybe, after the fact, I might feel a little bad about it! ;)

The stage is yours. Make the case for yourself and your entry! Why is it awesome?

Better yet, make the case for someone else! Why are they awesome?

Or make the case for me and my own awesomeness. Why? Just because! :D

I wrote mine a few weeks in advance in s8, if I remember correctly. Or maybe I wrote it a week early, during hell week. I don't remember anymore because of the psychotic break caused by writing 17 entries in a week and a half.

Also, whipchick staged the best long-distance surprise party ever, by having crazy, grinning circus acrobat kids make human pyramids and hang upside down from pieces of fabric, holding "Happy Birthday Kate" signs and then spamming my FB page with the resulting pics.

So much energy in one place. Those kids are having fun for real. :)

I've basically accepted that it's my time to go this week, so I'm not going through the usual rigmarole of stressing about the polls. It's kind of liberating, in a way! I'm pleased and amazed that I've made it as far as I have, as the mental/emotional funk I've been in all season has made it hard for me to do much more than get my entries in on time (and even then, there were a few close shaves!).

Not sure if I'll be back for future Idols or not, but I'm glad I made it to the Top 10 at least once (even if it wasn't a regular season). Everyone in the competition this whole season has been just fabulous, and I count myself as lucky to have been among you all :)
